This cleaning process is very delicate and sensitive. Cleaning lens should be done by authorized or pro camera technician. I suggests you to bring it to the nearest cam service center because they have appropriate tools to open the camera and properly clean it. A single failure or error on cleaning it by yourself might give fatal result to your camera.

Well I actually need to clean the light sensor following rain ingress. which would require the removal of the motorised lens to gain access. Question is how is this done?
Yeah, You've stated what I feared, so guess I must except the inevitable. My local camera shop said it wasn't worth repairing as in 6mths time the value of the camera would be less then the cost of repair, quoted about £100 plus no guarantee, as other parts may have been damaged by the damp / condensation. Thanks anyway, Nick
