My Samsung DLP TV has recently had trouble starting up. Sometimes the lamplight on the front will flash twice but all I hear is a clicking and the tv won't turn on. Other times it will start fine but within 10 minutes, the color gets all distorted and then the picture goes off. We replaced the lamp 2 days ago but it still has the same problems. Sometimes it works fine. Others (like now) will not turn on.

You need to replace the "light engine". This is very very difficult. You need to take it to a repair shop. But this will be very expensive. Around $1,000.00

On closer inspection, you'll find the ballancing weights on the color wheel have fallen off because of glue failure. Epoxy the BB's back on where they came off at (there will be a shadow of where the glue was). Save yourself 100-200 for a new colorwheel.

Sounds like the old lamp blew and took out the ballast. I believe that you need a new ballast for your unit. The other possiblity would be a problem in the low voltage power supply but if the indicator lights are blinking the most likely problem is the ballast.
I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4977572-when_change_ballast_in_dlp_tv which explains the problem, how to repair it and where to get the parts. If you need more help let me know.
Thanks for using FixYa and the generous rating.
