I have the same problem, the speakers are "burned", you need to repair them or change them, I went to a place where repair car stereos, old tvs, etc., they "rewire" or change the wires in the back of the speaker, where regular speakers have magnet, he told me not to replace the speakers for another ones, he told me that this ones are Alpine (they don´t have any label) speakers and that they are better than most commercial ones, he charge me about $50 usd, Good Luck!
You need to know if these are Pizo tweeters or dome tweeters. If Pizo just hool them up to the white and gray wires off the kenwood. if not, then you should go to your local stereo shop and by bass blockers (small capacitors will do). this is only to "erase" the ohm load. once you have those inline of the POSITIVE wire you can hook the up to the gray and white wires. Good luck hit me back
