How do i set a song for my text messages on my mix walkman phone

for sending text messages :
1.go to your message settings and check the message center number to see if it is correct
2. call to your network operator customer care
3. request the message center number...
4.note it down
5. go to message settings>message center number
6. insert the number which is noted by you and save it

this solves your messaging problem ...

Please go to the song. Then choose option, get it sett as text message ring tone.

For Keypad lock: Settings--General--Security--Automatic Keylock--Turn On
As far as locking only your text messages goes, unfortunately sony ericsson does not provide the option of locking indivisual applications.However you can lock your phone i.e put a security code on it. Follow the same procedure : Settings--General--Security--locks--Phone protection.

call the customer service of your service provider ( AT&T,Vodafone,Verizon etc)....they will set up message center number on your phone , the one that you have might be incorrect...your mobile operator will send you sim updates that will refresh the settings ....and then you will get the text message options

you must set up text messaging in the messaging >aadvanced menu... and key in the message center number .which you can get from customer care.

The message centre number might have been changed or modified. Call you network provider and obtain the message centre number. Go into message settings and check for the number.

Try to reset the phone back to factory settings.

You CAN set a song as your text alert tone. Here are the steps:
1- Go to: Settings> Profiles>
2- Select your options (e.g. normal, vibrate and ring, etc....)
3- select Options> Customize (2)>
4- Highlight "Message Sound" and select Options> Customize (2),
5- Then browse to the folder your song or sound is in (e.g. audio) and select the file you want to use and save it.

I noticed that the songs have to be under 30 seconds to use as any type of alert tone for calls or texts.

Is it possible your out of the 3G network when the origional messages were sent? If you have red bars the text wont come through until you get a good signal= yelllow or blue.

Go into your text message settings and look over each option very carefully. It may be set to "No Notifications".
