Logitech S200 Computer Speakers Logo

My left speaker stopped working (partly) for some reason. What could be the problem?

Whenever I turn the power on (on the right speaker, since the switch is there) I can hear the left speaker receiving power too. Both speakers sound exactly the same when no sound is played (the sound of electricity). From time to time the not-so-well working speaker emits a sound similar to the swtich-on/switch-off sound but a little different, like a spark or something. I don't think that this is a glitch in the programming because I had searched that area from top to bottom. The rest of the system seems to be working fine.

SOURCE: Logitech x-230 - left speaker not working when used with 360

Get your system to a repair shop! Note that the problem is in the PB9 jack at the back of the subwoofer and don't try to wiggle anything yourself - they're great speakers, don't do anything you'll regret.

SOURCE: Strange problems with Z-2300's

I'm having this same problem and have sort of solved it with a really wierd technique I found at Logitech. Evidently this problem is related to the control pod rather then the RCA jack. Try this:

Unplug the control pod from the subwoofer Turn off the main switch Turn the volume knob one full turn, tap the knob Repeat again (2 times) Replug the control pod Turn on the main switch and the control pod See what happens

I found that this got the speaker working finicky after it was almost totally useless. It seems to be cutting out randomly, but fidgeting with the control pod or it's connector jack fixes it. No clue what the deal is here, but your problem is identical to mine so take some time to screw around with these components with music running so you can hear if it suddenly works.

SOURCE: Right speaker doesn't work

I had this very same problem and I had my system for about 2 weeks. I have seen a lot of similar posts on this site so it seems that this problems happens a lot. For some reason my right speaker just stopped working so i came to this site for help. I looked at alot of posts and nothing fixed the problem. when i switched the right speaker to the left input it started to work so I knew the speakers were fine. So i finally decided to unplug everything and restart my laptop. Once my laptop rebooted I plugged the sub back into the wall after about a minute of it being not plugged in. Then I plugged all the the wires and volume control back into the sub and turned the switch back on. Make sure the volume control is down when you plug everything back in. Then plug the wire into the device, which in my case was a laptop, and start to play some tunes. Right away everything was working perfectly fine again and no problems ever since...for me atleast.

HOPE THIS HELPS

Creative t20 left speaker working intermittently

This unit is a powered speaker and what you are describing sounds like a bad connection or component in the amp. some parts can get hot and lose the connection on the amp board or the power board. It could also be a failed component

Left speakers do not work

As power amps are just two amps joined together all you need do is identify the left channel and compare it with the right. Ignore any parts common to both channels. The first thing to do is a visual check. If something looks broken burnt, or odd compared with the right channel then you have probably found the culprit. I suspect you could have a power output failure. It might be that the output devices are separate transistors. They might need to be replaced.
By the way just follow either the internal speaker leads or the connections to locate the right and left channels.

I want to record an MP3 CD, or a Music CD and be able to hear it with the Surround Speakers, not just Left and Right, for some reason whenever y insert a music CD the only speakers that i hear are the Left...

Press the surround button and change the surround mode to Dolby Prologic Music or Movies.Since there are only 2 channels in your MP3 disc and music cd the systems default setting is stereo.
Use your DSP ( Digital Sound Processing ) function to create 5.1 from 2 channel source.

Alesis prolinear 720 powered monitor stopped working

The power amp has failled and is driving DC current to the speaker. This can destroy the speaker. It is LIKELY that one or more transistors in the power amp and possibly other components have failed.

The unit will have to be serviced by an electronics repair facility. It takes test equipment to weed out all the failed parts, and it is likely there are several since when one fails it often burns up others. Likely one of teh power transistors or the amplifier "stick" has shorted. I would guess the parts will cost under $25 but finding which are bad can be labor intensive.

In the meantime DO NOT power the unit or you may destroy the voice coil of the speaker.

No sound coming out of Center, left and right front speakers

make sure you didnt turn off speaker set A on the reciever. cause from what i can tell from the manual you may have hit a button to turn them off. now on your reciever look below the power button on the unit itself. below that is a speaker A/B push the A button to make sure its on or the B depending how your speakers are rigged. if this isnt the problem let me know and i can help you with another solution -Nate

Right speaker doesnt have sound

1ST.-The right jack could be damaged!!
Usually, there is a [+} posaitve & [-] negative input\output to speaker connections. Not all [-]neg. is ground.Sometimes the [+] pos. is grounded. [The exception to the rule is that u SEE the black wire going to ground] the reason I am letting u know this is that u can test the INSIDES of the sound system.
If u can get inside of the unit. Cut the left speaker output [+] posative from both outputs. criss\cross wires.Place left speaker output to right speaker jack[ that does not work!!] & visa versa. If the [LEFT Output] stops working after u plug in the speakers, the internal RIGHT output is damaged. NEEDS TO BE TESTED
If nothing nothing changes. The left still works & the right still does not work, then it is the jack (shorted ?, opened internally ?)

Not turning on.

I have these speakers and I had to dismantle the circuit board to replace some components. I think it was capacitors, but a long time ago....so...I don't remember which parts....most likely same problem....mine are still working now. A good tech should trace power to amp section and signal through amp. ...about $15 reasonable repair....no more.
