Datamax I-4208 Cutter Fault

When I power the printer on it displays cutter fault. If I go into the setup menu and go to Printer Options and Cutter, it breifly flashes Not Installed and then displays Enabled.

If I send it a print job, it prints but doesn't cut, but it displays Ready after it prints. The monitor shows the status as ready all the time.

If the cutter cycles on start up up?
if not, check connector(RJ45) underneath platen assy.
I connected the I class should immediately recognize the cutter.
If it does not cut ever, check you format to see if the cutter is turned on in the driver.
I have seen some failures from wear on the bell crank that cycles the cutter.

My printer still says top form fault

snosel: The label sensor need calibration. Press and hold FEED button by 5 to 8 seconds. This method is a quick calibration. Or maybe need to make the complete calibration in printer menu.

The printer is datamax I 4208 give me an error top of form fault

Try moving the sliding green media guide out from the wall about 1/4 to 1/2 inch, until the white line is under the label path. This green piece holds the label sensor, which needs to be under the labels so it can sense the gap between labels (or the black mark on the bottom side of the backing, if there is no gap). Also, on the printer menu you must choose whether your stock has a gap (aka web) or black mark (aka reflective).

Position fault

Position Fault is common on Datamax printers with the LCD Display. Press "FEED" one time and this should clear it out. If not, "PRESS AND HOLD FEED" for about 5 seconds and release. This is called a Quick Calibration. Make sure the label sensor is in the correct position as well.

Will not feed full length of label. display reads "ribbon fault" datamax i-4208

You may need to take out the whole ribbon assembly by removing 3 screws. The ribbon sensor looks like a L shaped clear plastic glass.

If still not working. buy the ribbon assembly.

Present sensor faul on Datamax M class

Hello,

Apparantly, you have the present sensor enabled in the printer and there is no physical present sensor option installed. Go to the printer menu by pressing MENU. Press FEED until you get PRINTER OPTIONS and then press CANCEL. Press FEED until you get to PRESENT SENSOR and then press CANCEL. Press FEED until it says DISABLED and press CANCEL. Press MENU repeatedly slowly until you get a prompt to save changes then press CANCEL. Press FEED to clear error and it should go away.

Datamax i - 4208

If you use ms-access you must have installed the windows driver, therefore you must enable the cutter in the printer properties. Position fault is that it does not detect the label, must be press the FEED key or to calibrate, press the FEED key for 5 seconds to calibrate the sensor label.
