Acer Aspire 5585 Laptop LCD Problem

I have the Acer Aspire 5585 laptop. One day my screen went white as i was playing a game and ever since that whenever i turn the monitor on the screen remains white and i cant see anything.

I also have a crt monitor. I want to use this monitor to use my laptop. So i connected it with my external monitor output but I am facing some problems.

When the laptop boots the crt monitor shows the output. But as soon as windows xp starts loading my laptop lcd monitor grabs the output. Now i cant see anything. Is this some way i can divert the entire output only to the external crt monitor. I would like specific instructions as i have failed several times to do it.

maybe the game doesn't support your laptop that's why is doesnt work properly.

Screen turns white

You need a new led replacement in your LCD on your laptop. It would be cheaper to do that than buying a LCD. The Inverters for the LCD are easy to replace. make sure you check the model number on your laptop.

problably data-cable of LCD has contact problems or is broken. Consult someone with experience in opening the Display. DIY only if experienced, since you can make a $40 repair a $400 repair accidantly ... ;-)

Acer Aspire 5585 Laptop LCD Problem

Have you tried booting into "Enable VGA" mode via the "Windows Advance Option" screen? By press F8 before Windows XP loading screen comes up. In this mode the Video Card drivers are disabled. So if your screen appears normal and not white in this Mode then it is your video card drivers which are causing the issue.

hi, if u have the orignal bill, ACER has international warranty, u can take it to any ACER service center, or try uninstalling the video drivers and reinstalling it. if that does not solve, then u need to go to ACER.let me know
