Hi!
have been changing these ic's ( stk 392-110)every year!can you suggest alternates that can last longer?
stk 392-110 for matchline 46" philips rptv.
some folks are suggesting stk 394-160 or stk 392-570
Use 392-150 the can handle higher current, if not use 392-120. Make sure you use heatsink compound and don't get the "cheap" ics- you get what you pay for.

Hi: Your problem is the convergence circuit, you need to replace the convergence Ic's there are two large black IC's mounted on a large metal heatsink. The part numbers are STK-392-110 replace them with the same part number or use STK-392-120 for better and long lasting.
Hi:
This is due to a convergence IC failure, the blue convergence Ic is faulty, but when replacing convergence Ic's replace both of them as the other is not far behind to fail you in the future, the part number to use for replacing them is STK-392-110 , I suggest if you have someone replace them, that you have them use STK-392-120 instead as they work better and longer. If you take off the back of the television they are the largest IC's in the unit, they are mounted on large metal heat sinks..
Hello the convergence IC's have failed and need to be replaced. the part number for the IC's are STK-392-110, have them replaced with STK-392-120 as these will last longer.
You need to have the convergence IC's replaced. Try going into your menu and look for Convergence alignment adjustment option, you should be able to move the red and blue cross hair on the screen, just follow the instruction on the set and see which on does not move, then have that one replaced. But I strongly suggest that you replace them both, as if one has failed the other is not far behind, and will cost you more to replace in the long run. Better to do some prevention now then have the same problem happen again in the near future. A good note to give the technician i you don't repair it yourself, If the unit uses convergence IC's part #STK-392-110, Have him or her install higher rating ones #STK-392-120 these will last longer.
I made the same repair in a Toshiba 42h81 I replaced the STK 392-110 and after a lot of searching found the cheaper ones last 6 month or so be sure to use Sanyo IC's and replace the resistors with them when the IC's let go they take the resistors out I posted my repair On my page if it will help you dennisgm052.weebly.com
Chances are it's the STK392-110 convergence IC's....check for blown resistors in the area of the STK's also. It's a really simple solder job. I'd suggest buying a desoldering tool (about $30 off ebay for a good iron style with spring loaded "******") and I'd also suggest replacing BOTH stk's and not just the one. NORMALLY if it's only one STK that's gone south - if the TV is on you can see the STK's with the back cover removed, they are attached to large heat sinks, and look like black blocks....ONE of the heat sinks after operating for a half hour or more would be noticeably hotter if it's burned out. Touch CAREFULLY to check for heat with power on (duhhh) and beware that if the STK is failed - the heat sink may be VERY hot. Heat would be the indicator that something has failed miserably.
STK392-150 is an upgrade part# to replace STK392-110, and they will last longer due to higher heat tolerance. If you're going to replace the STK's - get the 150's, and MAKE CERTAIN they are authentic sanyo IC's. The generic **** won't last long.
you have lost convergence. one of three boards. in the setup menu do you have convegence option. could be a convergence power supply, or convergence amplifier board.
