Water does not dispense into the ice maker. It does come out of the door however. If the tube inside of the icemaker is frozen, how do I go about fixing the problem. Is there a way to fix it without shutting the entire unit down?Water does not dispense into the ice maker. It does come out of the door however. If the solenoid that controls the water intake is not activated either because it is defective or is not receiving the voltage from the ice maker, no water will flow into your ice maker. Make sure that the line is also not clogged - not likely but .............
It is possible the water control valve for that dispenser has failed and will not open. This happens a lot for those and the ice maker valves. All you need is the model number for your refrigerator and that will look like this for Kenmore. 213.564897 for example. and I will help you find the correct part number. Sea Breeze
check inside the bottom of the refrigerator for water, the water line goes thru the back of the refrigerator and it may have cracked and leaking inside instead of going to the dispenser. if not then water is most likely frozen in the line going thru the back of the refrigerator. look behind the pans in the refrigerator and there should be a coil of clear plastic water line, this is the reservoir that chills the water for the dispenser. sometimes it will freeze up if the refrigerator is very cold.
