SONY KDL-46W4100 LCD colour horizontal lines...

Started noticing these horizontal lines going across the top and bottom few months ago and since then the number of lines have increased and now it is a rectangular box on the top left and right. I am hoping its just a circuit board that needs to be replaced but not sure how to confirm which one? Any advice?

    Thanks for the help Ajin. I could not find a board on the bottom centre of the TV but did find a board with a metal cover on the top center. Also, I could only find a used TCON board on ebay but do you know of a website where I can buy a new board that I can replace.

HI,
Your tv have problem with the T con board. The t con board drives the Pixels in the lcd screen . If there is some problem with the t con board then this can exibits such problem as you mentioned. Normally you can find the t con board in the bottom center of the lcd coverd with a metal cover. Its part number is SONY T-CON: E40951307. If its avilable then try to replace the same which will solve the problem. Its a regular complaint with the Lcd tv's. I have added the picture of tcon board.

Som times if there is any loose conatct in the pannel connection which comes to the t con board then also the same problem can occur. Before going to replace the board do one thing remove all the connections to the t con board and reconnect it. Some times it will solve the problem. Sony bravia kdl-46w4100 moving vertical lines
Check the main filter capacitors at its power regulator board. Replace if found bulged or damaged. Replace all secondary side supply rails' filter capacitors too. The fault is with damaged electrolytic capacitors at the power regulator board itself.

I have a Bravia KDL-52w4500. Over the last month I have started to get more and more horizontal line across the screen. These do not go away. What can I do to fix this
unfortunatly, horizontal lines on an lcd tv, almost always mean a bad lcd panel. if it is out of warranty, it will be really cost prohibitive to replace the panel. if the set is only a year old or so call sony customer support and ask for a concession for the part.

I just read some Sony literature about T-Con issues and how to determine if the problem is the T-Con or the LCD panel. One of the examples they gave was exactly as you are describing. Unfortunately according to Sony the panel has failed and the only way to fix the problem would be replacement which is very cost prohibitive. Your other option would be to contact Sony and make them aware of your situation. Try speaking with as many people as possible and write down names. I have heard of times that they replaced the TV for free but to be honest I don't know of anyone who has been that lucky. Their number is 1-239-768-7547 Monday through Friday 9:00am to 8:00pm ET.

My TV suddenly has 2 7in horizontal lines on the same level seperated by 18in of good image. It doesn't matter which input is used or if it is cable, dvd, or video game.
same issue here. started with one line about 4" down from the top, then another appeared 4" from the bottom a month later, now another month and another line near the center.

Thick vertical lines
Hi. I am sorry to tell you that your LCD screen has finished its usefull lifetime. This is a typical pixel-line problem. This problem usually can not be fixed, It is necessary to replace the LCD panel. Though sometimes some lines disappear when you do some pressure round the egde where starts the line. To replace the LCD panel is usually as expensive as 80% of the Total price of the Device.
