I have Cellular South (a large privately owned company) and would like to update the OS. I can't find an update for my carrier, so can I use the update on HTC for the Sprint Touch. I not familiar with cooked roms and all that so I'd rather not screw my phone up.

Sure, download this file to your PC and unpack it. You'll find a pdf file with instructions. Anyway, connect your device to your PC, which shall have either ActiveSync (for Windows XP) or WMDC (Vista and 7) installed, run the extracted executable file, and follow the prompts. The upgrade procedure will hard reset your device. After it comes back to life, it will have a WM6.1 (v1.77) ROM, which is the last ROM released by i-mate prior to its bankruptcy.
Hope it works for you.
Anyway, please, let me know if I can help you any further.
I had this same problem. I thought at first it was a cell tower issue. I
called US Cellular and asked. They said it was a known problem with
this phone. They had me go into Settings-All
Settings-Personal-Phone-CDMA services-Time Synchronization and click
"get settings" Then uncheck the "Time Synchronize with mobile network
automatically". Then I went and manually changed my time zone (on that
same screen click "Clock&Alarm"). It stayed on that correct time
BUT then I did some searching online and someone had said they manually
updated "QuickGPS", then updated the weather tab and everything went
back to normal. I noticed that I only had 4 hours left on QuickGPS. So
I updated it and then updated my weather and everything went back to
normal. I turned back on the network synchronization and everything
still stayed in the correct time zone. So, maybe it's an issue with
QuickGPS when it gets close to the end of it's time before it expires.
Just a thought.
There is no way in which you can come to know the private number shown as private number on your clip. I can only tell you what it is. These type of private numbers are shown when they come from a company having 6-7 lines which in turn are connected to internal exchange with 200-500 extensions. Every extn has to dial zero to dial outside line. and once they do so their own extension number is not recorded anywhere in such companies. Somehow if you get that land line number then also it would be of no use to you because you won't be able to find from which extension that call was made.
Well not quite sure about this one due to the fact my local AT&T office says they are not sure when they are releasing the WM6 update... your local store must be ahead of mine. But I am sure they could help you with the issue. I myself took a risk and updated the OS by browsing the net. I have no problems right now. You might could google it or try the CD that was sent with your phone.
