My instax kept on coming out with black/blank photos. So it's underexposed. And the flash is not... well... flashing. Can camera shops repair this?

hello aleisha.... Sometimes in this camera, that first black protective sheet does not pop out of the camera like it should. Instead it sticks or jams and has to be manually removed. In order to fix without exposing the entire roll of film you will have to do it in the dark or in a darkroom, if you have any access to one. You will have to open up the camera and remove the packet of film, then remove that black sheet or clear it of any paper jam. Joe
Thanks for choosing Fixya!

The same thing happened to me. Make sure that the mechanism arm on the inside that pushes the picture up is connected with the metal piece on the right hand side. The two can come loose allowing the metal piece to not bring the arm with it when you take a picture. Also the roller could have fallen down a bit. From the inside, press the roller up (it will click when it is in the right spot). The roller should be even all the way across and pushed all the way to the top of the camera.
I hope this helps if you haven't been able to fix it already.
(When all else fails, try changing the batteries.)

X-rays can fog many types of film. If you are flying you can declare that you have film, and have them manually inspect it rather than sending it through the x-ray machine.
