The arm on my Wurlitzer One More Time jukebox is not operating. The carousel is spinning to the proper record selection, but the arm is not moving to pick up the record.
When the carousel reaches the correct count, the computer sends a signal to the gripper motor to start it. You could have a bad motor or a bad computer. But!....if the little switch at the front of the machine is in the off position (Gripper motor On/Off) that will give exactly the same effect. It's easy to knock Off when you are loading CDs.

There is a switch just under the tone arm. When the tone arm moves towards the centre it slowly pushes two copper strips together. When they meet it starts the motor to eject the record. If you can't Cancel the record with the cancel button then that is a different problem, otherwise you can adjust the trip switch by inserting a 7mm spanner down the hole to the right of the tone arm post.
Look up underneath the mechanism. You've moved the tone arm with respect to the bracket beneath it (which closes the trip switch). Select a record...turn the machine off...then look up under whilst someone moves the tone arm and you will see what it is attched to. If you are lucky you can hold that tight and gently move the arm back the other way a bit.
Have you checked all the fuses or circuit breakers on the jukebox?
Are all the power supply led's lit?
Make sure that all the connection plugs into the boards are fully seated and making good connections.
After checking the above if the fault remains you will need to contact a Wurlitzer service engineer.
Look at the switch and solenoid assembly at 1 oclock on the carousel. That is what activates to set it going and it then clocks off a ratchet wheel to do two full cycles looking for a selection then stops. If it gets stuck the carousel wont stop.
If the normal cancel button is working then take a look at the tone arm trip switch, which probably just needs adjusting. You can test this by flicking it with your finger when a record is playing. If it works it just needs adjusting to trip at the right place on the record.
The trip switch is located behind the fat end of the cobra tone arm on the back side of the arch, so you get to it by taking the machine back door off.
Are you sure you mean 556? Sounds an odd model to me. The model number is on a black metal plate the size of a credit card on the back of the jukebox (usually).

The microswitch at the base of the gripper arm is what enables the scan motor when the gripper is over the carousel. You will probably find that the small lever on the base of the tone arm is not clicking the microswitch properly.
It's the 'duck bill' bracket on the shaft near the gear box. On the others side of the white gears at the base of the tone arm. There's a white bracket that dips and clicks a microswitch when the gripper arm is over the carousel. It's come loose. Press it with your finger when the gripper arm is over the carousel and it will stop. Tighten it in that position..
record carousel wont stop turning ready for record selection
