Question about Palm Zire 31 Handheld
I have to frequently go through the process of resetting the digitizer by tapping the targets because my Palm doesn't hold its sync. After it loses sync, you touch the screen at a particular point but it usually acts as if you actually touched it at a point about an 8th of an inch higher.
There is a reset pin hole on the back of the unit; Hold the power button and push the reset button in the hole with a paperclip. All memory should now be erased.

Restart your computer,
Try a different data cable,
And last resort:
Give up on it.
(If you do give up, send it to me i need a new screen.)

The digitizer part is defective and needs to be replaced.
You can find digitizer parts in ebay or other on-line companies, at reasonable prices.
Regarding the labor cost, depending of the repair shop you choose, it may be cheap or expensive.
Also, if you have minimum experience and skills in fixing electronics, you can try it. really is not so difficult, and minimum set of tools are needed for it
