Samsung Digimax S600 Digital Camera Logo
Posted on Oct 02, 2008

Camera flash i generally use my camera on auto mode so i don't have to play around with buttons! however after loaning my camera to my sister for a week my flash is no longer as great as it was!! I used to take pics and the flash would light 2-3 times giving a great, bright picture. It now flashes once before the pic is snapped giving a dark picture. If i push the flash button on the left side of the scrolling circle it goes from red eye flash (which flashes once) to no flash! I'm almost certain i should have 4 different types of flash can anyone help??!

No worries, I think I can help you with this one.
I believe that if you are using your Samsung Digimax in either "Auto" or "M" mode you will only have the options of "red eye flash" or "no flash". BUT HOWEVER, if you select the "Prog" mode on the dial on top of the camera, you will have 4 flash options - "red eye flash", "auto flash", "slow flash" or "no flash".
I hope that this helps!

Some time internal flash does not work in my nikon D3100 camera

When in program and manual mode, you will have to set it to flash. Make sure the circle around the electric bolt on the screen does not have a line through it, and it should work. There is usually a button with the symbol on it somewhere around the lcd(I'm not very familiar with your model or I'd tell you where) or it may be in the on screen menus if it's not a button around the screen.

My camera doesnt' work indoors. i try to take a picture and it doesnt' take when I'm in AUTO mode. However, when I'm in LANDSCAPE mode the pic will take. it seems like the flash isn't active in AUTO...

You must have a software glitch because the flash is supposed to be in the auto mode when the selector is in auto, unless you manually turn the flash off and the flash should go back to auto every time the camera is turned off and back on. Here's a work around. Turn the dial to indoor and use the flash button on the ring to set the flash to auto. In the indoor setting you can set the flash to on, off, or auto.

How do i turn off the flash on the cannon power shot a530

Press the Flash button (the top part of the circular "joystick" button, marked with a lightning bolt) to cycle through the options. You can choose from Auto with red-eye reduction, Auto, Flash on with red-eye reduction, Flash on, and Flash off. You want the lightning bolt in a circle with a slash through it.

My flash isnt working on my A835 camera and i have only had it for 6 months

Check the flash mode that your camera is set to. The flash modes are: Auto, Red-Eye Reduction, Forced Flash, No Flash, Slow Synchro, and Red-Eye plus Slow Synchro. You might have the flash mode set such that your camera detects that the lighting doesn't require the flash mode selected. You can try manually overriding the flash mode by pressing left on the circle function button next to the LCD view screen. If you are still unable to manually turn the flash on, try changing the shooting mode with the mode select dial on top of the camera, then if necessary repeat the flash override step mentioned above. Repeat until successful. There is also the possibility that the flash is malfunctioning, but that is less likely than a setting issue. Let me know how you make out.

I can't seem to turn the flash on my Nikon D70 on! I've been playing around with it for hours and have read through the manual. I've followed the steps clearly, but nothing is working. The previous...

If nothing else it should pop up when you put the camera in A or M or S and then press the flash button on the side. It might or might not fire, depending on the light available, but it should for certain pop up. When you do this, you should hear a click and the flash should pop up. If you hear the click and it doesn't pop up, then it's jammed or glued or somehow being mechanically prevented from coming up.

In Auto modes, you can select the flash to off with the side button and the back rotary selector. This is where the flash symbol with the slash through it tells you the flash is off. If you push the flash button in Auto modes with the flash selected off, it won't pop up.

There are also some things the D70 can do to control external flash units that may be set abnormally.

The best way to make sure those aren't messing you up is to select "reset to default". That will take the camera back to a base setup that should work.

If none of these things gets it going, take it in to the Nikon dealer in town.

Yes you definitely can,

Turn on the camera.

The mode dial can be turned to any setting.

2. Press the button for longer than 5
seconds.
The message “Reset settings to default?” appears on the
LCD monitor.

3. Select [OK] using the left and right
buttons, then press the button.
The normal screen resumes when resetting is complete.
To cancel resetting, select [Cancel] instead of [OK].
