Are you sure you are connected to the internet? You can check that by looking at the right hand corner of the monitor. The icon with two small monitors. My advice would be to visit the Microsoft website and purchase a valid key, or if you have reinstalled Windows you may have to ring them up and explain that you reinstalled XP and used the same product key that is on your computer and the computer thinks that it is fake and they will give you a new one over the phone.
