I just read your post on FixYa from July. I have a Pioneer Elite Pro-700HD and am also experiencing the same problem with a blown 5A 125V fuse on the Power Supply Assembly. A service tech wanted to just replace the Power supply assembly but I haven't agreed to that yet. Total cost would be almost $800 including parts and Labor. After seeing your post, I was hoping that you isolated the component that was blowing the fuse. I also talked with Mr Bob from the AVS forums and he suggested that it might be a problem with the convergence IC. I have not purchased the service manuals yet and wondered if they helped you any. Any help from your recent experience would be greatly appreciated.

The failure is not on the power supply but the convergence amplifiers STK ICs have the 24 volts shorted.
If that fuse is blowing, de-solder the convergence ICs and put a new fuse to power up the TV; you should see distorted video when the TV powers up and the fuse should not blow.
The service manual migth not help much in this case since the failure is easy to pin point.
Good Luck.

Update: We removed the convergence board yesterday and disconnected the IC chips. We reconnected the convergence board and replaced the fuse. The TV came up fine and had video (blurred). The fuse on the power board didn't blow again. So, we have ordered the IC's and will give another update once we put in the news ones.
i cannot get the outside blue convergence to line up. any suggestions
