Installing cd players

I just tried putting a after market cd player in my 99 tahoe. i hooked up all the wires and started putting everything back together and when i plugged my light swith back in all my speakers went off and all i had was the bass from my subs. then i unplugged my light switch and my speakers came back on. so i messed around a little bit and ended up just with my passenger side door speaker working when i plugged my light swith back in, whats the problem? Also when i start/shut off my truck the cd player does not turn on or shut off unless i do it myself whats going on with that?

My after market CD player in my 2000 grand am se won't turn on the fuses are good and the wires are hooked up right it just won't turn on

If power wire is really supplying juice (check with test lamp) the internal fuse in player may be blown.

either your connectors need cleaning or maybe a break in the wiring. Is there on spot where both wires come together if so check there. If there is any plugs, pull them apart and clean them with contact cleaner

1988 bmw 325si manufacture radio is missing but wiring cluster is intact apparently. Do i have to have a stock radio replacement or can i install a cd player deck without causing problems???

Generally you any after market radio can be installed into any car. You might have to cut the original wiring connector but basically all you need to hook up a basic radio/cd player is a positive and a ground wire. That's what powers the radio/cd player. Next all you need to do is hook up the speaker wires the unit. One other option is to check out ebay for a used radio/cd player. You will do better getting a radio that does not have an anti-theft feature. If it has an anti-theft feature you will have to enter a code to make it work.

My 93 Boneville CD Player does not work, the radio works fine but it will not play CD's, also how would i install a set of speakers (subwoofers)

the cd player is bad and you can hook up subs through a rca hook up that you can hook to your speaker wires in the trunk the adapter is like 20 bucks at radio shack or local sound installer or buy an after market cd player cause yours will never work again and run rca's off the back of the radio to your trunk

I unhooked the factory radio in my 1992 Buick Lesaber and am trying to hook in an after market cd player. i can get power to the cd player but no sound out of the speakers...please help me!!

the easiest way to install a aftermarket radio is with a adapter kit sold at most auto stores...such kits make all the wiring conversions for you....and save the hassle of tracing down every wire

WIRING CHANGE FOR 2002 DODGE CARAVAN

Your best bet on that one is to go to a place that sells car audio systems or even some autoparts retailers have them, and get the proper adapter harness already made up. A few more dollars but, a whole lot less headaches.

2004 Chevrolet Tahoe cd player says changer full and won't work

Bad news. Your CD player isn't any good. I work for Chevrolet and this is a very common problem. The magazine inside the radio (the part that holds the cd's) starts going crooked. I think some real tiny springs that hold it break, causing this problem. Only fix is to replace the radio. First try this. Go to the fuse box under the hood and remove the 'Radio' fuse for 1 minute. This may reset the radio. You may be able to eject any cd's stuck in the radio. May be cheaper to put in an after-market radio. Sorry.
