It's not necessarily your anti-virus. Did you format your memory card in your camera when you first got it (as Sony recommends)? If not, the card will work temporarily, but the file structure will inevitably corrupt as pictures are added and deleted. Recommend first trying to download your photos using a USB card reader. If that doesn't work, your next step would be to try recovery software with the card reader and memory card. Here's a YouTube video of your freeware options, and here's more info on how to use them, and where to get them. After you've recovered your photos to your computer, format the card in your camera using the camera's format feature in its menus.

Sony a65 camera - Why are the folders set up on the storage media as "read-only"? Any way to change this?

To avoid accidental deletion of the images, or unanticipated corruption of the folders. If it is really 'such a hassle' to change the properties on a few folders, maybe you should get a different camera, or a different hobby.

Missing dcim.exe file

Hi! I had same problem and fix it no time. Well this is trick! virus hide dcim folder and make only visible dcim.exe. 1. so anti-virus will delete that virus "dcim.exe" (or can you) 2. go to start/run and type cmd 3. there you type "attrib -s -h e:dcim" (assuming that your cam is assigned e:) Now go to My Computer and DCIM shoud be there!!

I want to retrieve emails that were deleted.

Check your TRASH folder. If you deleted from trash too you cannot recover it.

Avg 8 removal problem....

This could be because you did not follow a proper procedure for an anti-virus removal. Nevermind, follow these instruction:
  1. Download CleanUp utility from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301.
  2. Install it and run it
  3. Scroll down and select AVG products and remove them one after the other (if there are more than one)
  4. Restart the computer and install your new anti-virus program
Kindly get back if need any further help

Unable to view the pictures folder

Hi, I got the solution for myself. Initially I have enabled to view the hidden folder option and even then I was not able to see the folder, then later I have disabled the options Hide Extensions for Known file types and Hide Protected Operating system files. Then I could see the folder and able to retrieve the photos. Once I have taken my photos I have formatted my MMC card and it is working normally.
