KitchenAid Superba double oven resets and gives PF message KEBS207DWH(

Recently my KitchenAid Superba double oven control panel has been resetting/rebooting itself, and then gives the PF power failure message. It has happened three times, all shortly after the oven had been used and turned off. Message can be cleared and all seems to work fine the next time, but I'm wondering if there's a loose wire or short somewhere in the unit.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Double oven - control panel stopped working

Atlanta...sounds like you may have a power supply problem or the panel is bad. Cut the power, open the unit up and see if there is a fuse in there or a reset. No good? Then replace the circuit board. They just, well, die sometime. Happened to my microwave. Some units may be available remanufactured. Look around on the web.

SOURCE: GE Profile F7 Error Code

I'm not sure what your problem is, but I have the same one. My stainless steel glass top model ?? is beeping all the time with error f7 on all the 4 tem control readouts. I'm guessing this is your problem as well. By turning the temp knobs it will stop, but sometimes restarts later for no reason. Other sites mention a ribbon cable on the touch controls (if yours has it, mine does ) that must be cleaned with rubbing alcohol. You turn off the power, and after unlocking the cable you clean the contacts with an easer and a q-tip w/rubbing alcohol. I don't know if this works but I might try it as the beeping is driving me crazy! The service techs will try and sell you about $450 in parts to fix the problem. This problem apparently has plagued these units for almost 10 years. Seems heat makes the cable get shorts at the contacts.

I HAVE NOT TRIED THIS YET so beware, but I had a short in my microwave and the site helped me fix a $500 control board for about 15 cents ( jumped a short on the board with a small wire!) Hope you get your problem fixed.

Kitchenaid superba double oven, stopped working everything dead, breakers not tripped. does not respond to any control.

Open the lower oven door and remove the 2 screws on the left and right trim pieces. Be careful not to drop the trim pieces and bend them. Locate and remove the screws on each side of the control panel and push up on the panel gently to get it off the hangers. Behind the control panel is an over heat fuse that has popped. It plugs into a harness on the back side of the panel. This trips/breaks it's connection from either the oven over heating the cleaning cycle or just from age.? Once fuse is replaced you're good to go. Hope this helps.

We put this unit on self clean and now it wont turn on nor open.

I had the same problem with a Superba wall oven. In my case, the bracket mount for the door lock warped due to the heat of the self clean cycle. We were able to open the door by inserting a coat hanger into the slight opening at the top of the door and sliding the lock lever to the left. It was a pretty easy self-repair - 1) turn off breaker 2) slide oven out 2-3" 3) remove oven front trim pieces 4) remove screws that mount control panel 5) this should give you access to the door lock mechanism.
good luck

Set probe temperature

If i remember correctly i believe this is actually a wiring issue. you would need to turn the power off open the control panel. and look for a control board with the probe connection on it. there should be a tech sheet in the compartment to help you identify it however if it is the problem they would be purple wires on the connector that need to be reversed.

It has detected a problem with the switch on the door lock motor. In most cases the switch will need to be replaced.
