I recently purchased two Saeco 7P hot dring machines. One did not work but one worked fine when I picked it up. I took it home and took it apart and cleaned it. Put it back together and it no longer dispenses product. It powers on fine. It accepts coins and bills and even turns the available selections green once the amount of money is deposted that meets the requirment for the specific beverage. Pressing the button inside the cabinet to prime the system appears to prime the system as water runs through all three tubs. I do have beans in the hopper. When I press the button for the beverage nothing happens. No sound and just nothing at all. Doesn't matter which of the beverages I attempt to dispense. I feel like I'm so close but yet so far. Two fuses I found on the circuit boards on the back appear good. Fan is running. Looks like it should work. No errors or issues I can see. All lights on front are green once the initial system test is completed. Thank you for any suggestions. Rick
Rick:
Here are some possible causes:
- for the top five selections (the ones that use espresso), the first sound you hear after making a selection should be the grinder starting. If no sound, check that grinder is receiving 120V.
- do the bottom 2 selections work (the ones that don't require espresso)? If not, inspect the ribbon cables leading from the selector circuit board in the door. The is a sharp edge on the door hinge which could damage these cables.
- if the selector circuit board was ever removed, it may not have been replaced so that pushing the buttons on the door actually depresses the microswitches on the board. To test, verify that you can feel a click when you push each button.
- it might be a circuit board issue. Having two machines allows swapping of circuit boards between machines. Hopefully, you can come up with at least one set of functional boards.
- Good Luck!
Hi Rick,
Glad to hear you made some progress. On the second issue, I think the most likely causes are the boiler or the brew group. Try swapping brew groups with your other machine. If that's not it, remove the back panel and check out the boiler. If you remove the boiler, you'll see it has one opening for water delivered to mixer chambers and another opening for brew group water. A valve shuttles between the two openings, delivering water to one port or the other. That valve could be scaled up and clogged. Try disassembling and inspecting the valve, o-ring and spring. You may need to soak them in CLR to remove any scale. Also, these three parts come together in a boiler repair kit if you can find a dealer who still sells parts for 7Ps.
Good Luck!

Hello,
Thanks so much for your input. You totaly nailed it. It was the circuit board not being placed correctly. When I pushed the buttons and knew what to look for it was clear it was not set up correctly. I removed it and connected it and that problem is no longer an issue. Thanks so much.
Now if it is not too much trouble I have a new issue. When I reset the machine the solections not requiring beans work great. The grinder works as well but the problem is no water is dispensed on any coffee products. I removed the brew group and cleaned it and confirmed it is clear so assume the water is not reaching the brew group. Hoses on back are connected. Any thoughts on what may cause the water not to reach the brew group. It is moist but no real amount of water.
Thanks again as the tips were totaly on target.
