Color problem

I don't know how much experience in working on stuff like this, but it sounds like a solder run might be cracked. If you're lucky, it might be that a gang plug needs to be "exercised" by pulling off and the replacing a couple of times. You might want to try to do this - anyone with a modicum of experience in working on electronics and computers will be able to pull this off. Chances are, you'll disturb the connection to either get it to work, or to make it worse. If worse, that is actually better, as intermittent problems are expensive to have fixed.

Channels disappearing

this would apear to be a defective main tuner which a tech can replace this unit has two identical tuner modules one for main and one for pip There could be a issue with something called rf switcher. the signal goes in and is switch or routed to the pip tuner. so somewhere between the switcher and tuner the signal is lost.

Picture-in-Picture

I'm not at my shop so I'll see what I can do. Most sets will show PIP in just analog. If the video game is in High Definition or in component then it may not show it. If the main input you are using is the computer input, then the set may not show PIP in that mode at all.

Need help with PIP

When you go into the menu to choose the PIP source the PIP comes on to confirm that a valid source has been selected. It is normal for the PIP to close when the menu is exited. To display the PIP normally you will need a remote with a PIP button. Most universal remotes today have PIP functions but if you get a Zenith original replacement then you are guaranteed to enjoy the other PIP features such as size, position, freeze and swap.
