We installed the direct tv hdmi connection to the TV following the instructions in the manual. The tv states that there is no signal. We contacted direct tv and they walked us through their checks. They stated that nothing was wrong at their end, that everything was correct and to check with Westinghouse. We called the customer service number and the idiot machine could only give us an activation code after entering the serial number. Why do we need an activation code. There is no set up wizard. It gives us date and time but will not accept any changes we make. We select HDMI for connection and it tells us no signal and freezes up. What is wrong?

I use a Toshiba DVD Player SD-6100 and had the same problem when using a HDMI cable. The ILO TV kept saying no signal. I don't know how to make the PS3 change into sending the HDMI signal, I'm sure though that is is similar as to the dvd player simply changing it in a menu. All I had to do was use a component cable to access the dvd player menu and from there changed the video out signal to hdmi, thus sending a signal to the frikkin tv. It all works now.
The Ps3 should have a similar menu to select video signal output. Try accessing it using a previously working cable, then once changed, switch on the tv back to hdmi input and see if it worked.
Hope this helps

try using the 27 pin monitor input instead the hdmi possibly has a frequency variance

Try this
1. Turn ON TV
2. Connect PS3 to TV HDMI input
3. select TV HDMI input for PS3
4. turn OFF PS3 if it is ON
5. Press and hold the [I/O]Power button until the PS3 until you get the "HDMI Detected" message.
Also, this TV has a circuit that deactivates the HDMI if the rear cover is removed. It is possible the HDMI may have been turned OFF. This is reset in the service menu of the TV.
