Where can i buy a REPAIR MANUAL for a stihl ts 760. The safety and general maintenancemanual available is worthless !!

i cant help with a diagram however a carb rebuild kit will solve any problems your carb is having, if you dont winterize your saws then there will be buildup plugging them up also. you can get a carb kit at most any saw shop for 10-20 bucks, they are easy to do and take less than an hour of time. also fyi ethanol fuel is horrible for small engines run clear premium fuel and winterize your saw when not in use and youll never have any problems.

You need to rebuild or clean the carb or carbs completely pay close attention to the low speed circuit make sure its clear.

Sure sounds like a fuel problem to me. Sounds like one of the jets in your carb are clogged up again. I would take them apart again. Carbs are touchy.

Yes. Whether storing your saw for a week or a month, a quality fuel stabilizer adds life to your saw. It can also keep it running with the type of problem your having. Double the recommended strength in your mixing fuel can and replace the fuel in your saw. Remove the spark plug and shoot a 2 second burst of lubricated starting fluid into the cylinder. Replace Spark plug and start your saw. Let it run for at least 2 minutes with the choke on then slowly increase the rpms as you push the choke in. If your saw stalls inside of that 2 minute window, do this procedure when it begins to stall out. If it still will not run, then your jets ( located inside the carb) are plugged up with varnish and you may need to rebuild the carb or replace it - it would be cheaper to rebuild and this is not a difficult job. If you choose to rebuild, get some starting fluid without lubrication to soak the jets in as you clean all the other parts. The starting fluid has a high level of Ether which will break down stubborn Varnish deposits.. Rinse all the parts in your fresh fuel mix ( oil, gas, and stabilizer). Re - assemble carb and flush your fuel tank as well. Put it together and then shoot a 2 second burst of lubricated starting into the cylinder through the spark plug hole. Install spark plug and follow starting procedure, foregoing the primer bulb. Your saw should now be running smoothly unless your carb is defective.

A better suspect is the fuel pump. It is a diaphram in the carb that converts the vacuum pulses into pumping the fuel. This is a common problem when saws are a few years old.

Get a carb rebuild kit complete with the little flapper check valves. The fuel, especially with the alcohol added destroy these diaphrams after fuel sits in them a while.

An easy way is to remove the air cleaner off the carb, and give the top of the carb a couple sharp taps with a small hammer or a heavy screwdriver.. sometimes you can simply loosen the needle valve and float up this way.
You may need to take the top of the carb off. The float and needle valve work together to stop the flow of fuel into the carb. You want to check to see if the float is not full of fuel.. if it is , then it's got a leak and should be replaced... spray the needle valve and seat with carb cleaner spray to remove any build up.. And as long as the carb bowl is exposed, clean the basin out as well.

it sounds like the carb is gummed up you will need to remove the carb and clean it out with carb cleaner and rebuild it with a rebuild kit(it's a fairly easy job)...good luck

Try tapping the side of the carb.while some one crank's engine, the float could be stuck, if you buy a rebulit kit it will have the diagram with the kit.

Back firing is commonly an indication of a lean fuel mixture, and is commonly caused by a blockage in the carb jets or fuel passages in the carb. It only takes something small to cause real problems. The flooding if that is wat is happening is most likely caused by the needle and seat not sealing. Going through the carb is not a difficult process if you have some mechanic skills, if not take it to a shop.
