The first thing I would do is to make sure your power supply is good. I have found that sometimes they will make some of the lights come on, but they may have 12V and not 5V or whatever. I bought a small thing you plug the power supplies into, and then the lights light up to show you if the power supply is supplying what it should. Once you are sure the power supply is good, (don't assume) if they still don't work, I would visually check the boards. I have found many times the small capacitors go bad. After replacing them, the boards worked fine. Usually they will have the top cracked open or bubbled up. If you are up on electronics, as I guess you are if you know how to read a schematic, soldering in new ones is a simple matter. I also remove the CPU, clean the bottom surface off, and put a small amount of CPU grease on and reinstall the CPU. Be sure to check all the pins, as they are pretty small and easy to bend one over.

Vostro 1510 laptop. Motherboard need replacing?

The best available solution is not an happy one, but the cheapest. E-bay will usually have your part for a fraction of the price ($100 or less for the entire mobo), but then you need to take the computer apart and do the replacement work. Easy....... but terrifying!!

Not found webcam & montherboard after install windows 7

Go to Dell Website http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?os=WLH&catid=25&dateid=-1&impid=-1&osl=EN&typeid=-1&formatid=-1&servicetag=&SystemID=VOS_N_1510&hidos=WLH&hidlang=en&TabIndex=&scanSupported=True&scanConsent=False and download the required drivers for Dell Vostro 1510. Dell Vostro provides only drivers for windows XP and Windows Vista. What you can do is install the Windows Vista Drivers for your Windows 7 and hope it works.

Dell Vostro 1510 Laptop; cant get anything on the screen

Same thing happened to me.
I stumbled on this link and the solution made sense to me.
http://en.community.dell.com/dell-groups/new-to-community/f/3511/t/19323146.aspx

What I did was to nudge in the Hard drive to make sure it wasn't loose and press down slightly on the processor even though it didnt feel loose.

Worked for me. Though I'd help someone else since someone else 's post helped me.
