Cannot get my voicemails due to "multiple logins" on my extension
When I try to retrieve my VM messages, there is a recording that says that: "you cannot get your messages now due to multiple logins to your mailbox please disconnect". I do not know what the recording means nor can I fix it. Can anybody suggest a solution? It would be very much appreciated. Thank you very much.

Re: Cannot get my voicemails due to "multiple logins" on...
Try to unplug the unit and leave it no power supply overnight in order the residual charge in the component parts is gone. The idea is to erase the memory stored in EPROM. Then after the overnight, then replug again the unit.

Have you tried to retrieve any message? Sometimes another extension will set the MW light on inadvertantly.
Calling the VM won't help but if your retrieval attempt keeps ringing it will be a phone somewhere within the system. FIND IT & Answer the call at THAT extension and the light should go out. NB sometimes there can be more than one in Queue. Panasonic stack up to 8.
You have messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when people call while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.
Where did your assistant check the voicemail? In a TVA system, each extension VM password can be reset from mailbox 999. If you don't have that password, you would have to call your dealer/installer or check their notes. If you're trying to get to the General Delivery Mailbox, it's done from the Message Manager's mailbox (998). Again, it needs notes, but I think you can reset that password from MB 999.
Haven't you solved this yet? When we install a system, we reserve THREE buttons for voice mail functions. One is VM Transfer, one is 2 Way Transfer, and one is VM Record. In order you pick 3 buttons press PROGRAM one of the buttons and dial in order 94 500 STORE 01 500 STORE and 90 500 STORE, assuming your voice mail is on the default extension of 500. To send a call to someone's voice mail you press VMT and his DSS button or dial his extension and hang up. The outside party will get all of his greeting. If you want to prompt the user, like you would if you were taking a pink slip, you press 2W Transfer and his extension and carry on a conversation with the outside party. The message records in their mailbox as a new message. If you want to silently record into your OWN box, you press the VM Record button and your conversation is recorded into your own box as a new or old message, depending on how the system is set up.
There are other variations, including a single button transfer into someone's mailbox and some other features that are covered in you telephone sytsem OM or User's manual under Customizing your phone.
When you press the message button, look at the display. Is it really going to the VM extension or is it going to another phone? Othre people could have left you a message by calling you and pressing the MESSAGE buttone either on purpose, or by accident.
You can clear ALL message lights from your phone by dialing *700 plus your extension and #. Of course you can access VM by dialing the VM extension, usually 165 or 500 from the intercom.
What you have to do is 2 main steps. Most Norstars have your first name set as the id for extension.
Next, login to the admin portion of the VM from a large display phone. The keys used to login to VM is as follows..."Feature Key" (this is the key on the phone that is grey in color, and has a little black globe in the center, the numbers "9,8,3" then the system will ask for a login, now, if your extensions are 2 digit based the login is "12000o" and ok, if you have 3 digit extensions the login is "1020000" and OK, if you have 4 digit extensions, then the login is "10020000" and OK.
Once you are in, on the display you will see MBOX, AA OTHER. press MBOX. Then Change. Enter in your extension and proceed through the prompts. Make sure that your name is listed as Last name first, first name and that you are set to Y for directory.
That is it.
