Why am i getting no picture?

I turn it on and there's a static sound and no picture. The little light at the bottom turns blue, so it's definitely on and when I press "Input", the light blinks like it normally does. What's happening?

SOURCE: TV clicks off, sound comed back on but no picture

I had the same problem. I replaced 14 capacitors on the Power Supply board. I used Panasonic series FC from DigiKey. If you see any capacitors that are swollen or have any substance oozing out for sure replace them. My set had lots of the brands that are known to have problems so I replaced all of them even though I could see no obvious swelling etc. Make sure you carefully label the connectors etc when you disassemble the unit.

SOURCE: tv wont turn on, but have light on fornt of lcd

You are only have 5v standby circuit working, the problem can be in the main control board (not sending signal to turn on the main power supply sections) or the main power supply sections are bad.

You can download service manual here:

Look for bad capacitors, burnt parts in the power supply first.

SOURCE: Blue LED light comes on but nothing else happens when turned on

It can be the main board or the power supply, look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

First of all, how do you get the tv to come back on? Typically, the power board goes out. It can run about $100.00 for the board plus labor. TV repair shops are getting harder to find. Even then, parts are not available for most TVs nowadays. Look for sales on new TVs.

It sounds like it is set to a TV station and since all the analogue stations have now gone you will only get static. Without a remote you wan't be able to switch it. I suggest you either shop around for a replacement (try Curry's partmaster) or use a universal one.

No picture no sound loud humming sound for a short period when you turn it on than a orange light flashing at bottom where the blue light is when you turn it on.

AV cables reversed perhaps. Sounds like VIDEO (Yellow, Green, Blue or Red) cable is plugged into the AUDIO section. Perhaps you have switched the RED (Left audio) cable plugged into the RED (Component) Video cables. This would account for the loud buzz and since the set isn't getting an image it goes into standby mode. Just a thought.

Blue streaks across picture

Can you describe in a little more detail what the symptoms are? Are the streaks thin lines or are they large thick swashes of Blue? Is yur video still visible? Sounds like it may be the blue convergence amps or the resistor tied into the amps. is there anyway you can post a picture of your screen distortion?

Blue vertical lines - no picture

you did not mention if you have sound.but if you have sound your problem is in your video and vertical section.if no sound then you have to look into the IF section.if you are not a tech then you will have to take your set to repairman.goodluck.the tuner must not be over looked.an estimate of about $200.00 could be less.

PLTV-32 GOOD PICTURE, Static Sound

If it is under warranty, you would be better off the return it for an exchange as the main board will need to be replaced. this board is not cheap. Good Luck
