Can you check that the new battery is an alkaline battery? If it is, and you are still getting the E31 error code, you will need to return your rangefinder to Bushnell to have it reprogrammed.

E31 is a programming error code. Most of the time this comes from using non-alkaline batteries or from letting a battery die in the unit. Non-alkaline batteries just don't generate enough current for the laser to operate properly.

The F31 error code means that the control board detects the oven temperature probe circuit is shorted. If the sensor tests good, then you could have a bad control board or a short in the wiring.

I've read some scary reports that e31 might mean you are out of luck.

I'd still get onto Bushnell themselves and ask them what it means.

Be sure to ask them for a quote before agreeing to send it away for repairs. Often when there's a hardware issue inside the device, because of stupidly high service fees, you could be better off just purchasing a new one.

For North American washers, I would suggest resetting you appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. You can try this, and if it does not work, I suggest contacting the manufacturer directly, for further assistance. E31 simply means - Waste Toner Reservoir Overflow Problem (when the total number of copies is more than 100K sheets). After E31 is displayed, 1000 sheets may be copied before shutdown.
