Have you updated the firmware? According to Nikon, when the Rechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL10 is inserted in the camera and charged, charging sometimes did not stop after the designated amount of time had passed. Usually, you'll receive the message "Battery Exhausted" if this is the problem... but you could also have a completely dead camera as well.

See Nikon's website, download updated firmware to your camera and install a NEW battery.

My camera says battery exhausted after charging replaced with a new battery its doing same thing after about 2 weeks

The problem may be with your battery charger rather then the battery itself. I don't know if you are charging your battery in the camera or with a separate charger. In either case I would buy an external charger. If you don't want to spend Nikon money. has several models in the $20 range. Try charging your battery in a new charger. If that does not solve the problem, there may be a short circuit in your camera's electronics that is draining the battery. If that is the case, contact the Nikon USA Service Center (look on the Nikon website) for a repair estimate.

Battery life nikon coolpix s3000

If the rechargeable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

Nikon Coolpix won't charge no matter what

The internal battery, which is kept charged by the removable battery, has probably run down. Take it to a repair facility.

Nikon s3000 was working fine, the battery ran low and then i didnt use it for a while and now i have just gone to charge it up and its not responding at all. no green flashing light. and when i connect it...

It is possible that the battery voltage has drained and gone below the threshold limit. In this case it will not recharge as it had drained too much and so will need a JUMP START. What can be done in this case is to use a multimeter to confirm that the voltage is indeed low. if so use test bench charger with a series limiter resisitor of about 22 ohms to apply a voltage to the respective terminals- correct polarity.
Once the battery voltage comes up then the charger can be used to charge to the normal level.
If the camera does not come on place the set with the charger for some time. If not there is failure within and must be checked out consulting the Nikon service center.

Please check the voltage on the battery using a multimeter. Now if there is no voltage try and charge and test with the camera , if the camera powers and then shuts off then it is possible that the battery is faulty. If so it must be replaced, check if warranty is applicable.

Rechargeable batteries don't last forever and the ones supplied with the camera are not of very good quality. Try new batteries and also consider getting another recharger as the Nikon supplied one is very basic and does not take good care of the batteries it's used with.

Your camera came with a separate battery charger, didn't it? Plugging a camera with a dead battery into a computer won't get you very far. Charge the battery first.

My Nikon Coolpix S3000 says battery exhausted, but when I plug into charge it won't charge. Any suggestions?

The rechargeable battery probably needs to be replaced, I would take it to a camera shop let him have a quick look to make sure the charge light is coming on and try a new battery.
