My elna 9000 says something like bRe and will not sew. How can I fix this?

I unscrew a little behind the foot and then tried to rescreew it. I was trying to get a new walking foot to fit on it. Then this bRe comes up and none of the button will work and it will not sew.

Thanks. It was the batteries. I took it to the shop and found out the batteries were corroded and have caused signifigant damage.

I am not sure which machine you are using, but I have an Elna 9000. The only code I have ever seen come up on the screen is "btr" which signifies that the batteires for the electronic memory are running low. My machine will continue to sew, but this code comes up every time I turn the machine on - then the machine sets itself up normally and will sew fine. Plus, changing the batteries cancels all the memorized information on my machine.

I am not sure if this is the same code you are getting. My Elna 9000 manual does not list any other codes for the machine.

Have you taken your machine to a service dealer to have them check it out?
Best of luck. I know it is frustrating when you are in the middle of a project and have to stop to have your machine serviced.

To replace the presser foot lever on an Elna 9000 Computer model sewing machine, follow these steps:
  1. Raise the presser foot by turning the handwheel towards you until the needle is in its highest position.
  2. Release the presser foot lever by pressing the button on the back of the presser foot lever and sliding the lever to the left.
  3. Remove the old presser foot lever by sliding it off the presser bar.
  4. Align the new presser foot lever with the presser bar and slide it into place.
  5. Secure the presser foot lever by pressing the button on the back of the lever and sliding it to the right.
  6. Lower the presser foot by turning the handwheel away from you until the needle is in its lowest position.
  7. Test the presser foot lever to make sure it is functioning properly.
If you are having difficulty replacing the presser foot lever or if the machine is not functioning properly after the replacement, it is recommended that you consult the user manual or contact Elna customer service for assistance.

Elna 9000 computer sewing machine. How do I set the presser foot to hold material between the foot and feeder dogs.

Check your owner's manual for presser foot pressure adjustment. Yours is probably set too lightly.

There is a flathead screw on the left side of the shank, unscrew it and the shank comes right off.

I have for gotten how to make the machine sew and im having trouble threading a bobbin for my moms machine elna 7000 i need a manual or a quick note to get started

YOu can down load a manual from here http://www.arizonaexpressionz.com/elna_instruction_manuals/Elna7000.pdf

Just remember to click the bobbin thread into the tension device correctly and hold the two threads behind the pressure foot when you start each seam - Elna top loading bobbins give great stitch quality but you just need to keep stray threads out or they'll jam up.

Also, you must use the Elna plastic bobbin that the manual specifies for this machine - the 5000, 7000 and 9000 were Elna Tavaro Switzerland's first foray into computerised machines and first released in 1986.

Also, please check the manual when you go to buy twin needles, there are two types now as computerised machines usually need the twin needles offset from the shaft position. They have red or black plastic block between the shaft and the twin needles - I think you need the red ones but just double check the manual to make sure. And you can't do all the wide stitches with a twin needle as it will strike the foot.

Hope this helps a little.

Elna 9000 sews automatically

Most likely this is a problem in the foot control and it will need to be replaced or repaired.
