Hello, my name is Steve.

This is an early sign of print head failure.

Soon it will give you an error code on display or ill be observed on your computer. The print head nozzles are not firing correctly. The only way to remedy this is to:

1. Have the printer serviced and cleaned ( the cost of the new print head and a cleaning and servicing of the printer

2. Order the print head online and install it yourself. The wonders of the internet can find an give you a video of how to do this.

The part number is: Canon QY6-0082-000 Printhead (Canon QY60082000 Printhead) I hope this helps, Steve

Try reinstalling the printer software

Code 1485 indicates trouble recognizing the ink cartridges. Make sure both are inserted properly, and that both are Cannon compatible.

canon mp490 error 5200 solution...... turn off printer,then hold reset button(the red 1 circle with triangle in middle) for 5 sec then whilst holding reset button turn power on let go of reset button then push reset button twice whilst still having hold of power button then release power button then push reset button 4 times and then power button twice hope it works it did for me carlos:)

Constantly get paper jam message while there's no paper jammed.

clean and align cartridges

Try cleaning the felt pads where the print head would rest when not printing. They get full of ink and cause more printing problems. I use water to clean them.Don't loose them, they are needed to keep the print head from drying out.

I had a similar problem with my 8500. I downloaded the latest driver from Canon, and the problem seems to be fixed.
