Acer monitor wont turn on or off?

The power light is flashing green can indicate start/restart of the power supply due to shorts circuits or failing power supply due to bad caps, look for bad caps with bulging top first, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

some transistors on the board have shorted they supply power to the inverter to run the lamps, they power is not cut off intermittently and the protection circuit has stopped the monitor. the fix is here

Check the power cord where it goes into the monitor and make sure it is tight. When it turns off, if the power light is still on check that you are not getting message "No Imput"; it may be the serial connection on the back of the monitor or the back of your pc. Usually if this is the case the power light will be yellow, not green or will blink. Acer and Planar brand monitors are known for issues ranging from this problem to going completely black even when power light is green. If its under warranty, return it if trouble shooting doesn't work.

when i turn the computer on the light on the monitor blinks green but i cant get it to turn on..i have a black screen.

i had the same problem now my monitor wont even turn on if i do that the power light just keeps blinking maybe its a sign of a dying monitor

You've got a busted backlight inverter... Need to replaced a new one...

I found some solutions other posted that didn't come up the first time I looked. I did a reboot and I'm good to go!

Well, suddenly it worked again. But I waited the whole day >.>

This works if you boot the monitor with a pc, open the osd menu and go to reset. reset the monitor.

Bad power supply. The light is green when it is not plugged into the monitor because there is no load on the power supply. When you plug it in the monitor tries to draw current, nothing the PSU can handle now, so the light blinks. The PSU can not provide the amps that the monitor needs.

Get a new power supply, you can find them on ebay. Just make sure the voltage and amps match. It is ok to buy a power supply with a higher amp rating, the monitor will only take what it needs. Also make sure the power plug that plugs into your monitor matches.
