The top oven & grill works perfectly. The main oven is completely dry but won't turn on as it keeps blowing the electric when we turn it on.

SOURCE: Neff U1422 oven overheating

Hi

Yes it does sound like faulty thermostat.

You will have to remove the oven from the oven housing, and remove the top cover, and possibly the front console.

Then you will have trace the sensor back to the main oven, and unfasten sensor in oven

You will probably have to remove the rear
panel as well to get the thermostat sensor out.
One other possibility is the sensor may have become detached inside the oven, this will then affect the oven temp.

Good luck

Hope this will prove helpful.

The oven fan element has failed, you need to fit a new one.

Remove inner rear panel of oven and you will see the round element at rear.Unscew screw(s) that secure element, disconnect leads, and fit new element.
Refit element cover.
Job done..
Make sure you have power off to oven before you start.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Neff U1422 oven grill tripping RCD

The grill element has an internal short and needs replacing. Sometimes you can see it as a slight bulging of the element. This happens just before it blows a hole. It may also have been physically damaged when something was put in there after a few Sherries. :>D Sounds like your RCD is adequately sensitive.

It looks like the clock has failed. Try leaving the power off for at least 10 mins, turn it back on at the main switch and then try it. If it still doesn't work Espares can get you a new one. Incidentally, if there is power to the oven, the grill will work even if the clock is not set.

We have Smeg DUCO8CSS double electric oven. Bottom oven does not work, clock is blank and fan doesn't work. Top oven OK ! - though usually the fan runs when this is operating.

If the clock is blank, then the main oven will not work, as the clock timer is linked with the main oven.
You need to to get the clock working, or you will not be able to use the main oven

Oven blows main switch

There is a short circuit between the lower oven control and the lower element.
Disconnect the lower element. Put electrical tape on the loose terminals and turn the lower oven on.
If it does not blow, replace the lower element with a new element.
If it does blow, Check the wiring to the lower element for continuity to the frame of the range.
If you get continuity replace the damaged wire..
Finally, check the control knob switch for continuity to ground on the frame of the oven.
