Hi, if you have no power, 24volts to your stat, remove your panel on the indoor unit to look at the control board. It will have a 3 to 5 amp fuse plugged into it. See if it is blown. If it is good, the next thing to check is the 120 voltx24volt transformer located in the control area.More then likely, you have blown that fuse for some reason. If you replace it and it blows again right off, you have a dead short on your secondary low voltage side. You will need to look for any stat wires that may be touching metal, the board may be bad. Pull or kill power to the indoor unit, remove the 4 screws holding the board in place, work it to where you can look at the back side for any hot spots, burned spots. If you find that it is, your board needs to be replaced. They do burn out very easy, a very common thing. Please let me know what you have found.

Thermostat is working, but display is blank

My thermostat used to go blank when heating. It was caused by the overheat protector inside the heater. That switch cuts the power to the heater and the thermostat. The heater could also be burned out. If it's a 24Volt system, the power supply could be bad.

At the moment i am stayin in an apartment that needs a lot of work. the thermostat wasnt hooked up and was told the wires were there. i found wires and the old thermostat but there's only two wires. i...

On a 2 wire heating control, the 2 wires would be connected to the "R" and "W" terminals of the thermostat. The thermostat is simply a switch that routes power to the different connections inside it for different applications. Power comes in on "R" and is sent to "W" when there is a call for heat.

Honeywell T8011r does not have anything on display - does not appear circuit breaker is thrown - could it be wire disconnected at the plate or is there a fuse inside the unit?

Check to see if you have power at the furnace. You thermostat is powered by 24vac coming from the furnace. You should have power on the "R" terminal.

I have 120v going to fan ,thermostat has been put on 80 degrees and it still won't work .Do the heat sensors go bad ?

The heat sensor or thermal switch can go bad, so can the motor.
Try a few things;
shut off power going to fan. try cleaning out the thermostat housing using some compressed air on low pressure, or use a vacuum cleaner on blow, or a hair dryer on no heat. you can also spray the inside with contact/motor cleaner(home depot electric dept.) and then blow the thermostat out of any dust or particles that may have lodged inside.
To see if the thermostat works at all, turn power to fan on. Take a hair dryer on heat and place near thermostat - to see if fan comes on.
To rule out a bad motor, the thermostat can be bypassed by hooking up the feed wires to the fan itself, if you're handy with wiring.
Ventamatic web site does list replacement parts for fans... Good luck!

My honey well thermostat keep clicking and I can't program it

If you have a programmable thermostat and it is a couple of years old you will probably have to install a new one. What kind of thermostat do you have? You can turn power off to furnace and then take thermostat off wall and take wires marked r & w and connect them together your heat should come on when you turn power back on. If not you could have blown the 5 amp fuse inside furnace. I would check the fuse inside of furnace. If you take panels off front of furnace you should find a controll board inside that runs furnace. If you have anymore question just reply back to me

Help?

turn thermostat all the way to the left to turn it off. restore power and see if it stays on and inside fan is running. Then turn thermostat to rite to turn on compressor. If the power trips when turning thermostat back on, the compressor may be bad. :(

Two year old Maytag Fridge not cooling

pull the power plug for 15 minutes, then plug back in...same problem? tried adjusting temperature control knob (thermostat)? if yes to both questions, freon has escaped out of loop or faulty thermostat. Attempt force start of compressor with jumper clips: pull the power plug then find the two wires into motor and apply 120 VAC from jumper clips. If it spins, then faulty thermostat.
