Printer Is making clicking noise and hour glass on display printer wont work. have done semi-reset and cleaned sanner glass, moved scanner to middle has luckily worked but by reading all the prolems i'm almost sure that i'm going to have the same problems again allready have 3 times. do i need to replace the scanner assembly? and or the adf motor drive assembly too. also where do i go to get the replacement parts hp dose not have them they try to sell me another printer this one is only 4 years old.
Scanner replacement is needed as this cannot be repaired, the lower printer part is perfect just the scanner parts needs replacement.it is also costly to get replaced.

Hi - Same problem as countless other posters. Have Googled for hours and days on end. I've done all the resets/restarts possible (I think!); cleaned the glass; moved the scanner to centre; covered scanbed with white paper; left unplugged for days. Can't think of anything else (non-violent) to do. Does anyone have any other ideas for me to try, or is it time to give up now? Thanks.
grinding noise on start up.
