Information you need about your wireless network :

SSID or wireless network name
If the wireless network is secured, the security type (WEP, WPA) and the key (passphrase)

install the print server or access the setup user interface using the above information.

Try unplugging both and then plug in the router, let it reboot, then plug in the other and let them find each other. if that doesn't work let me know.

DLink DPR 1260 lost connection

Are the small printer icons lit up on the face of the PServer? Mine has recently started losing connectivity and simply unplugging the power and plugging it back in restores full function. Still looking for the reason it just started doing it though..

Hi!!! How do I set up wireless printing? I have an HP1022 printer...

You should have your DSR 1260 connected via cable to your router. Open a browser. Go to http://dlink-xxxxx (xxxx=last 6 digits of your 1260's MAC address) or http://192.168.0.10. The DSR 1260 web config screen will open. Click on the Setup tab (top row). Then click on Wireless Setting on the left hand column menu. Select settings based on your router's setting, Typically: Wireless Setting: On; Network Name: choose from drop down, if not there, type your router name in; Wireless Mode: Infrastructure; SuperG Mode: same as your router; Security: same as your router. Then Save.

Remove the cable connection of your 1260 and your router. Then go to Status in the web config. Click on Wireless. It should now show your router details. That's it.

Dpr-1260 onkly works when connected by ethernet cable

dpr-1260 searching for ap and connected keeps changing back and forth when I refresh. On dpr-1260 if status of wireless keeps changing from searching and connected, change wireless to WPA, instead of WPA2. even if you have WPA2 setup (as I did), if you choose WPA it will stay connected.

Can't connect a Dlink 1260 Print server through my Linksys wireless G router

A couple of things to check for:

  • If the wireless network is encrypted on your router verify that you have the right encryption key programmed on the print server
  • You are connecting to the corret router (Verify the SSID of the network - SSID being the networks name)
  • Make sure you are in an acceptable range , not 500 feet away from the router
  • Verify that the print server has a connection to the printers connected to it
  • Try rebooting all of the equipment (router , server, printers)

Connecting this print server

Without knowing more information, I can't give you exact instructions...however, in order to make the print server truly functional, it needs a dedicated IP address. Look through the settings on the print server interface (GUI) and see if you can assign it a local IP address (192.168.xxx.xxx, depending on your LAN setup).

Once you give it a dedicated IP address, you should be able to route print jobs through it.

Hope this helps - remember to rate :)

Problem with DPR-1260

this kind of problem occurs in dlink router sometimes & after some time router stop responding after 10 -15 min & once u reboot the router it again start work for a while. the best solution to this problem is to reset the router back to its factory defualt settings u can do this by press the reset button on the back on the router ( it looks like a small hole u have to use a pin for press that button) once u have reset the router to factory default settings just reconfig the router & i am sure it will start working fine in case u still face the same problem just contact D-link or send me the details about the problem & the physical setup of ur router & printer etc

Printer eventually loses connection...

Try to upgrade the firmware revision to the last one (1.21).
I had similar problem with the dpr-1260 firmware rev 1.00.
Now after the firmware upgrade the problem seems solved

DPR 1260 will not work at all

I had the same problem earlier. Forget that I had MAC address filters setup. You might need to add your printer server's MAC. Then it should work. Mine did. Good luck

DPR-1260 ... prints but cannot access web config page

To get into the web configuration you need to know your firmware on the DPR-1260. If it is 1.12, us http://dlinkps-xxxxxx where the X's are the last 6 number of the mac address. If it is 1.20 and up, use http://dlink-xxxxxx, where the x's are the last 6 number of the mac address. If you do set it up as DHCP or static and know the ip address of the print server just type in the ip address of the print server on the address bar.
