Hitachi has LED’s, green ‘lights’ and a red light to determine what circuit may be the problem; after removing the back of TV, bottom only, plug TV back in and observe which LED’s come on …..BUT most important which LED’s don’t come on; locate and note number, EG; DP37 and etc.

shanerickp, how many flashes before the picture comes back? that could be your code for a lamp replacement. check your owners manual for that.

Unplug the unit for few minutes, say 15 minutes and then turn it ON. If the problem persists, this would confirm a hardware failure.You need to open the TV to get it fixed. You need to have tools like multimeter, soldering iron ( atleast ) and you should know how to read schematics. It could be an issue with power supply board or a combination of failures. If you wish to repair it yourself, revert and i would be glad to provide you a link to purchase service manual and would provide certain pointers that would help you to fix this problem.
