Hi, when I went to make a copy, the paper came out blank, look at the display and say, "scanner locked" also show a red light on the printer picture displayed. How can I fix that or reset it so I can copy again? Turn off the machine. look where the paper comes out, the ceiling part there is a green slide switch. turn it to 'lock' position then slide it back to the 'unlock' position. (Mine was difficult to move but it works!) Then turn the machine back on. A repair man walked me through these steps. It worked for me and no charge!
What happens when you print a report? Do you get print then? If you can print reports and then you get blank copies the problem is your scanner. If you can't print or copy, then the problem is in either the drum, I would say 30 percent, or laser probably 70 percent. But we have to find out if it will print a report. Do you use the machine as a fax ? Do they print ok?

I see you concern, I believe you will need to check your toner if it is placed properly inside the machine seems that it is not locked/latched in its place to be able to print properly reason why you get a blank paper and black dust when printing.
Remove the Toner and re insert it again making sure the toner is set properly inside and also make sure the correct toner cartridge is installed, an incorrect or incompatible toner can cause issue of not getting to print anything on the paper or possibly not fit inside the machine correctly.
Hi,i'll suggest you check the quantity of toner remaining in the printer, perhaps the toner is insufficient,if this is not the case,i'll suggest you check the printer catridges, probably they need to be replaced.
If after these solution the problem persists,i'll suggest you contact the nearest printer technician for further diagnosis and assistance.
Thanks amd take care
Normally a blank copy is caused by the image not being transfered from the drum to the copy paper. Which indicates a problem with the transfer step of the process, check for a bad transfer roller or a bad transfer belt. If this is not very obvious, run a copy and try to turn the machine off or open the front cover during the copy process when the copy paper is about half way under the drum and check for a toner image on the drum. If there is no toner image on the drum you may have a developer problem, broken drive gears etc. But if there is a toner image on the drum but no image on the paper then it is a transfer issue.
1) you do not dump toner into the drum! Juo dump it into the toner unit. 2) didi you after replacement put the blue toner handle (right from toner unit) into the left position?
If you were stretching the toner cartridge, you may have depleted the toner in the machine, if your machine has a toner button on the control panel, press it and let it run its course, if it doesn't try running a few blank copies and see if this helps. The machine only adds a little each copy, if it is depleted, it will take some time to catch up as there is toner being used on each copy, but blank copies don't use toner but the machine will add at its preset level.
Failing this it may very well need a spring clean up.
A common mistake is that people think that the waste toner needs to be emptied and instead the toner needs to be replaced --- and vice versa. Check to make sure that the toner bottle is not empty. Also, if you made copies that took ( used ) more toner then the machine was able to replenish, the machine has not had a chance to catch up. Place a white sheet of paper on the platen glass and make blank white copies. You may only be able to get 1-2 copies at first but as the device catches up with the toner replenish you should be able to make more. The blank copies you make -- do NOT put that paper right back into the machine. Lay it flat and let it cool, this will help prevent unwanted jamming due to heat build up in the paper. IF you have good amount of new toner in the machine, gently tap the front line ( or rear line) that feeds the used toner into the waste bottle. Sometimes the waste toner will clog and back up into the machine giving false 'waste toner full' message.
One way to tell is to take out the toner cart and shake it, reinstall and test run. If it comes out better you may be running out of toner in the cart and will need to replace it shortly. The drum and toner cart on this machine are in the same unit.
Hope that helps...
