Hi First you have to check the water valve to see if it has power during the time it should be filling the washer , Set the unit to fill and wash you know where it normally starts filling with water , remove the two wires from the water valve and check to see if you have power going to the valve , you have to eleminate things to find out what the problem is , if you have power then check to see if you have water to the valve, if you have water and you have power but you arent getting water then the water valve is bad , and this will be a cheep easy fix , have a good day

My Hotpoint FDD914 dishwasher is displaying error code A7 what does this mean?

When the motor is switched on, it must reach a speed of 1300 rpm within 10 seconds; if this doesn't occur, A7 alarm condition is generated.

Possible causes:
Motor winding short-circuited, motor winding interrupted, motor jammed, electrical connections broken or false contacts, tachometric sensor broken or short-circuited

I have a Hotpoint BF71 dishwasher. I put it on but it hasn't worked, it filled with water which won't drain not will it even start now. I took out the filter but I couldn't find any blockages Help!

Reset the power at the breaker, but you may need a new pump and motor assembly. The same pump washes and drains on most Hotpoint models- a solenoid is used to open a drain flap and let the water out, but a bad pump will equal no wash or drain... Motor will not start

Hi, the reset switch is located on the inside of the dishwasher. its on the actual motor. here's a tip to keep the motor operational during low usage cycles.

If you do not use your dishwasher often, set it to fill and pump out once every week.
This will help keep the seal moist, and the garbage disposer clear. it will also keep the motor form deactivating itself.

Won't start

It sounds like you have a food blockage or some blockage between where the water fills up and where it goes into the pump you need to take out the water wand (the rotating thing with water coming out) only the bottom one. You need to unscrew the water wand and make sure nothing is blocking in there.

If not then check your filter which should be next to the water wand remove it and then clean it and make sure nothing in in there to block water getting through.
