PS2 chip Hi Could you please help me. I recently went to Bangkok and bought my grandson a chip for his PS2 to enable him to play all the games I also got in Bangkok. But not sure if it is the correct one to get put in. Then I have a problem of finding a person to actually put it in. We live in Darwin Australia. The chip has this number on it M7 Mp 788 with no instructions on installation. The console is SCPH-75002. Please help for my 8 year old grandson Regards Linda Dowden

That is strange how the boot-up sequence can change. When You bought it, it sounds like it got mod-chipped when you bought it. if are one on the techy side of life then you can open your ps2 and look for one (google mod chip). Also the chance of one being there is higher because it can play copied games. Even though you bought it with the copied games, 1) copied games are illegal, and , 2) PS2's shouldn't be able to play copied games cause it wasn.t designed too.

This problem actually related to the region change.For this problem you have to install a modification chip in your PS2 console after that it will play all your games according to your region.
For this you have to contact any expert nearby to you.

Yes, you just need to have your PS2 Modded...just look for any technician in your place who does PS2 Modding...

Some games are for other regions of the world, the machines are made to only play certain regions games, hence people chipping them, the downloaded games may be missing encrypted data, thus wont play.

Hey buddy FORMAT DISC means PAL games or NTSC games format.

There are 2 formats dics in this world for the PS1,PS2,PSP,Wii,Gamecube.etc

They are [NTSC] and [PAL]

[NTSC] is for North America and Japan ONLY. [NTSC] is Original games.

[PAL] is for Asia Only. Which is copied games form the Originals.

I need to know were did you bought PS2 Console from ?

If you bought it in North America or Japan then you have to buy and play Original games from North America Only.

If you bought your PS2 in Asia then you can play copied games.

It is most likely your PS2 is a NTSC, your PS2 cant read any PAL games so it will say format dics.

you can not play PS2 games in PS3....you need the same game in PS3 version,, there is a great hardware difference in both the machines,,,,PS1 games can be run on PS2 but not on PS3

you have to put a modchip in itso you can play multireginal games i guess go to a games show and ask do they do ps2 chips
