Replacement of Bulb PT-43LC14

If it is (as it appears to be), an older style rear projection set, it doesn't have a user replaceable bulb. If the problem is with the "bulb" it is actually 3 CRTs, similar to old style "picture" tubes and they are not replaceable without special equipment and training... sorry.

at a tv repair shop they can order it for you or you can go online search your brand and order it through its company

Try checking your lamp door. I have seen a few of these that you need to really wrench that screw down. Let us know.

That sounds like a bulb. You should pull it out and check it.
Pretty easy to do, but if mine did the same type thing, replaced the lamp and powered right up.

My PT-43LC14 has a yellow tint on 3/4 of the bottom to top. the top 1/4 seems normal. I removed the bulb assembly and it looks OK. Any ideas. Is there anything I can doe myself. and if so what is the p/n I can buy?

I had this same problem. This (panasonic) set is sensitive to the type of bulb used. Don't use a remanufactured one, get a philips/osram or an OEM. If that is what you have, move on to the ballast. Replacing the ballast isn't easy, if you are electronically inclined, you can remove the back panel and the page size aluminum brace, it has two large square cut outs. The shiny silver box under that brace ( maybe 10" x 4") is the ballast. That is typically the next thing that goes out. The bad news is the cheapest I have ever been able to find a replacement was around $350. But again, if you have soldering skills, order a ballast repair kit from ebay ($30) and go to work. If you decide to do that, let me know and I'll email you photos and walk you through it. Once the ballast has been repaired, if it still has the problem, The power supply is bad. At that point take the bulb back out and sell it on ebay or send it back and use a LFH (large F****** hammer) and take out your aggression. Its not worth fixing. The powersupply board is more than the TV is worth. Most of the time this problem is fixed with the ballast. But its a CHORE to get to it and remove it to work on it. Long screwdriver? maybe if you consider about 3" being long (explains why wifes upset). I have replaced the bulb only and the housing with bulb several times with this pos tv. The housing and bulb is one philips screw behind the front snap off panel (the big front piece that has the hdtv stamp in bottom right corner, just pull out it has push in plastic stubs) then remove the philips screw next to the big white warning label where there is a small half circle cutout around it in the label. then one screw on the big black piece of plastic with a fold down metal handle. Then just pull strait out, little snug but as long as you loosen the screw it should slide right out. to replace just slide in whole housing replacement and tighten the 2 screws back up. As for just replacing the bulb, I buy mine off ebay and they have all come with real ez instructions. I believe there is 2 screws holding the clip for the 2 wires coming off the housing, just take that out as the new one comes with wires. you just screw on the 2 wires to new bulb tighten down the wire clip and put it back together. The housing can be just pried open with a flat head screwdriver (think there was a couple tack welds) then after new bulbs in just bend back in as much as you can, it will clear in the tv and be fine so it doesnt need to be exact. Most of the time, when there is a chirping comming from a TV set, there is a short somewhere inside the TV set. That chirping noise is the TV's power supply starting up and shutting down because of a heavy load on the power supply. These sets have no user replaceable parts inside them, so play it safe, and call out a pro to assist you in this repair. good Luck PS Please do not forget to rate this thread.
