Factory set to standard should not need to be adjusted, if you have a problem then it will mean that one of the components on the pcb is not working.

SOURCE: rheem 92 gal. no hot water. breaker not tripping.

Have you checked to make sure that the elements are good by checking the ohms. Be sure that the power is off and the wires are disconnected from elements and then also be sure to check the ohms across the tank to make sure there is not a dead short in the element reading through the tank. If both elements are good then I suggest replacing both thermos then they will both be new and should work for you . Thermos can be problematic when trying to test them sometimes they won't always give you correct readings. Make sure you have the breaker off whenever you mess with a waterheater, and make sure you install the thermos correctly with the right wires going where they should.

SOURCE: low pressure on hot water taps and showers

Many states building codes require a pressure regulator and expansion tank for hot water heater installation. Check the pressure regulator if you have one as this would only affect the hot water pressure. Adjust or replace. Rap the expansion tank like knocking hard on a door. Hollow sound is good. Dull thud means it needs to be replaced as it is filled with water.

SOURCE: warm water only

You can eliminate the shower control knob possibility by turning on your hot water anywhere else in the house. If you get hot water in other places, then it could be the knob causing it. A substantial lime buildup in the tank can also cause poor heat transfer from the elements to the water.

Error Im getting is C8 82

Before calling service tech, copy following link for Rheem-Paloma troubleshoot resources:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Troubleshoot-Rheem-Tankless-water-heater.html
C8 is usually the PC board, or could be failed gas solenoid valve.
82 is gas-type-data-failure = program PCB for proper gas type, or proper altitude above sea level.

If this is new installation, Rheem-paloma might tell you to contact the installer.
If this is older tankless that worked before, then things point to failed PC board. Rheem-paloma may send you new PCB for free if unit still under warranty period for defect parts.

Rheem does not post service manuals, but will send instructions.
Hopefully the success rate for replacing your main PC control board will have better outcome than expected when replacing motherboard on your computer.
Perform regular maintenance to avoid some common error codes.

Whirlpool 40 gallon energy smart elecrtic water heater. The control board binks once, by the panel means system start up failure, but we still have hot water, but every time we use the hot water it starts...

The evidence points to a control malfunction.
Call Whirlpool for assistance: 1-877-817-6750
You will need your model number and serial number located on label on side of tank.
Serial number is required because models change as the technology evolves.

Open following link to read product details about the Energy Smart, and download typical manual.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Whirlpool-Energy-Smart-electric.html

Note: Energy Smart water heater requires 10 gauge wire and 30 amp breaker.

Typical energy smart manual shows: 1 flash is start-up error, which indicates 'Power ON with no water in tank.'
This is not possible because at least the upper element would burn out, if not both elements.
If upper element burns out, this water heater will not make any hot water, since it is wired for ordinary non-simultaneous operation.
There cannot be air inside the tank since your hot water faucet is not spewing air.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-it-works.html

Also be aware that model numbers change.
Read following account of fellow who replaced control board on his 4-year-old energy smart, and how he discovered wires are reversed on newer control boards. Be sure to ask Whirlpool about this possibility, in the event they say control board is faulty and send you new board:

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

You have not said anything about error codes, Based on that. You may have a defective remote control, to replace the remote, would be the first step. it would be the lowest cost to you.

High Temperature shut off keeps killing the power

When your water is getting heated too much , there awre a couple things that may be happening. The thermostats need to be in full contact with the metal tank surface. If there is space between the back of the t-stat and the tank, then the water will overheat. You may have a bad t-stat. Replacing a t-stat is a relatively easy chore. They can be fiund at most building supply or hardware stores.
Take the old one with you to make sure you get an exact replacement. Make a drawing of the connections , so you can rewire the new t-stat without any problems.

76 C8 error display on control board

Call Paloma and they will send you a new circuit board. We had the same problem. Our heater is a little over 2 years old. They said the error "76" is a circuit board issue where the tank is not communicating properly with the remote. The other solution they told us was to disconnect the remote and just let the heater run on the default.

Suburbun rv waterheater 10 gallon with electric ignitor makes clicking noise because it'strying to ignite but it's like no fuel is getting to it to start.

I had a similar problem, I could hear the valve clicking and spark working, but no flame. I checked for voltage as per the previous post, and checked continuity of both coils. Both showed voltage and continuity, but the ohm reading on one coil was less than the other.

I called a rv repair shop looking to buy a new valve ($120 - ouch). He didn't have one and when I explained what I had checked, he said could be that only one valve is opening. He suggested I remove one wire from each coil, turn the heater switch on and when I hear the spark igniter, touch a wire to one of the coils at a time. If it clicks, then it's fine, if it doesn't, then it could be the coil that needs replacing or the valve is stuck. If you see a spark as you touch the wire but no clicking, then it's a stuck valve. If there's no spark, then it's most likely a defective coil. A stuck valve can sometimes be freed by tapping with a screw driver.

In my case, one valve clicked, the other didn't and no spark was seen so I had a defective coil.

The previous poster is right, replacement coils are not offered as a replacement part - but - the repair shop I talked to saves all the coils out of old heaters and I was able to buy one from him for $10.

Problem solved, heater now works!!

Fault light flashing 1 flash per second

Prior to writing the above fault I had asked the owner to turn the boiler temp controller , for the heating side, down just a fraction . I was phoned this morning to tell me that the boiler had stayed on allnight with no fault light . After consulting with the plumber who fitted the system it appears that there might not be a room stat ,
