SOURCE: password problem to change setting for my Sony Cyber Shot camera

With the camera off hold the Zoom to the 'W' side. While holding the zoom press the play button, when the camera powers on it will ask if you want to reset. Press ok.

The camera will then ask you for a 4 digit reset code. The code is:

Is there a battery in the remote control that should be changed

Yes, please check backside of remote, there should be a battery door cover that must be removed. If you do not see this, then you may have to slide the front door of your remote all the way down and off the remote to access the battery compartment. (if you have a sliding door on front of remote, that covers any buttons)

Simply put it does not come alive with batteries anymore. need a replacement i think.

This only takes about a minute and will restart 1 in 3 "Dead" Original Remote Controls.

Step 1- Pull the batteries out of the remote and leave them out until Step 4.

Step 2- Press and release each and every button one at a time on the remote control until every button has been pressed and released at least once!

Step 3- If your remote has slide switches, you must move the switch to
each position then repeat the button pushing in Step 2.
(When you're done, be sure to put the slide switch in the correct position to operate the unit the remote came with!)

Step 4- Put the batteries back into the remote, being very careful to install them correctly.
New batteries should be used if you're not sure about the old ones.

Step 5- Try the remote.

Special Note:

If you have a digital camera, camcorder or camera phone you can test the remote to see if it is emitting a signal. Face the remote towards the lens of the digital unit until you can see the front of the remote. Depress any button on the remote. You should see a light (steady, blink or flashing) being emitted from the remote.
If you do then the problem might not be the remote but the sensor on the set.

If you need a remote then try the following or other sites;

In the USA look at; www.remotes.com
In the UK look at; http://www.espares.co.uk

Fujitsu remote control Model AR-DL10. I need to change the batteries. I can pull the slide down to expose the set/ swing/ energy save, but I think I have to pull it further down to get to the batteries. ...

How to get to the batteries in a AR-DL 10 Model Fujitsu Remote Control/ A/C

Pull it down to expose the controls inside.
To pull it down further to expose the batteries: PINCH BOTH SIDES OF THE slider at the top where it is knurled so it will bow out a little bit in the center AT the same time you may need to
slide an object under the slider to help it bow up a litter further.
WHILE DOING THIS: pull the slider further to expose the batteries. There are two plastic stops that the slider must clear to pull it down enough to get the new batteries placed. Before putting it back together: File down the two stops with a nail file so it is easier to do next time. - Who engineered this?

My Sentry S3807 just will not open. I have the combination right and the key, but it won't open. The batteries could be shot, I suppose, but how do I get in?

How to install sentry safe batteries
slide open the battery cover located just below the keypad.
Insert a paper clip or pen point into the small hole in the cover. Push in while sliding cover to the right. Disconnect and remove the battery holder. Insert the 4-batteries as indicated.
reconnect the connector and put back the battery holder. Slide the cover back in place.
How do I insert the batteries on my advanced electronic lock safe? On the newer model Fireproof Sentry Safes my locksmith recommended me To install batteries,
turn the electronic lock case to the right and remove. Insert four new batteries as indicated, replace the electronic lock case and turn to the left to reassemble.

Remote unit slides open but cant find battery cover-model AR-DL10

When sliding the bottom part of the remote down, you have to lift it slightly (I did this with a letter opener - very carefully) to pry the door up from two stops that normally prevent the dorr from sliding down too far. If you look carefully, you can see what I mean.

Sony RM-ASP001 for 400 disk changer stopped working

Try the command code switch. I recently had a similar problem when my remote suddenly stopped working. It worked fine one time but nothing the next time I tried it.

I checked the emitter with a digital camera and found it was not working. I did the remote reset (remove batteries and push all the buttons twice, reinsert batteries) and the emitter was now working. However, the remote would still not control the base unit. I did the remote base code reset (push power, volume and TV/DVD buttons together) but this did not help. I then checked the command code switch. This is a small three position slide switch located in the battery compartment on the remote. I slid the switch back and forth several times returning to the default number one setting where it was before. I did not change anything on the base unit but the remote now worked.

Hope this helps.

Canon A95 "Change Batteries" problem!

I have this problem as well. I thought it was a problem with my NiMH batteries. So, I bought a volt meter to make sure the batteries worked. I have 8 AA NiMH batteries. I charged them all up and tested them with the volt meter. They were all good to go. However, no matter what I put in the camera one of two things happens:
1. I get the "change batteries" message.
2. I don't get the message, but the next time I check the camera (a few days later), one of them is totally drained.
Something is very wrong and I plan on contacting Canon.
