It can be removed by using a punch which is a bit smaller than the pin. This tapered pin can only be driven out from one side. Put a bit of WD-40 or some other penetrating oil in the pin area then figure out which end of the pin is smallest. Gently tap it out with the punch and a hammer, only use as much force as necessary. Only replace the shaft if it's badly damaged. You may be able to get at it by removing the four screws on the attachment hub. Remove the hub and see if you can get at it from there. If you can't, you should be able to get at it from the top. If you do replace it, you might consider replacing the shaft bearing and the bearing on the planetary shaft. In fact it is safer to remove the planetary gears and the shaft so you can do this on a work bench.
