Sony kdl 32bx300 has no power outputs from power supply is my problem with the main board or power supply

Can't get power ,on signal from main board to power supply. the only output signal I can get from the power supply is the 3.3 vdc. Is the power supply at fault?

These could be power supply , main board or both.

While a modern PAL TV can display NTSC sources (namely DVD players and PAL VHS players that support pseudo-NTSC), an NTSC TV can not display a PAL source, unless it's an expensive multi-standard TV. Sorry pal, bad choice.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. I have no power or red/standby lights. I'm wondering is the problem the Power supply board or main board?
Power supply regulator section. Either it will be on a separate board, or on the part of its main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Well, if the power supply is in good working order, you will need to verify that the proper voltages are getting to the main board. If the main board is getting the proper voltages, I would bet you have a defective main board. The video and audio signals are generated on the main board. Expect to pay $100-$150 for a replacement main board.

TV will not power up when plugged in. i hear a clicking noise near the power supply.
That problem is usually have 2 causes..Its either power supply board or main board..

Please take this steps on how to determine the problem:
1. Open the back cover.
2. Check the power supply output...It should have 5vdc for the main board..12vdc or 16vdc for the audio and 24vdc for the back-light inverter..
3. If those 3 voltage supplies have encountered voltage drop...The problem could be on power supply board..
4. If the power supply output is normal..The problem could be on the main board...
5. If the problem is power supply you should check if the capacitors are bulged on the top and try to replaced it..If you can't do that you can purchased new power supply board..
6. If the problem is on main board there is no D.I.Y repair on that so you need to buy a new main board that fits to your TV..

TV won't power ON..

This is the common problem..

Power supply board or main board..

Please try this procedure to determine the faulty parts.

  1. Open the back cover.
  2. Check the input of the power supply board it should have 220vac or 110vac depends on your voltage comes from the outlet.
  3. If you don't have voltage input of PSU..Please or try to replace the power cord.
  4. If you have voltage input on PSU..Please check the output voltage of it..It should have 5vdc for the main board,12 or sometime 16vdc for the audio and 24vdc for the inverter board(back-light).
  5. If you encounter voltage drop on the output..Please check the power supply board if have leak/bulged on the top capacitors..Please replace it with the same type,ratings and value.
  6. If the 3 voltages mention above are normal..Your main board is defective you need to replace it because main board is not for D.I.Y repair due to the surface mount type parts on it..

Red light blinks when tv is turned on., and tv flashes Sony and then nothing-blank screen. Red stilkl keeps flashing.
