If your evaporator fan is working (the fan in your freezer) you might want to check the air baffle. That is located in the back of your frig section. It is most likely all the way top left. Put your hand in front of it there should be air coming through the baffle. If there is no air coming through you either left your door open and froze the inside lining if your refrigerator or your air baffle control is broken.
If you left the door open and it froze the lining the only solution is to shut it down and leave both doors open for at least 24 hours straight. There is no way to get the ice out.

Is the dial to adjust temp coldest set at low numbers or high number?

The dial inside the fresh food compartment, the bottom compartment
set to middle or above (higher numbers mean colder). Usually 5 to 9 if it has numbers.

Freezer knob in the middle if it has one. (If you set a freezer knob to "colder" it cuts
off the cold air to the lower compartment). Hope this helps

My fridge is warm but freezer cold

a little door from freezer to fridge gets frosted shut. you need to defrost the freezer then run it on a medium temp not the coldest setting. also make sure to not over fill the wall in between the freezer and the refrigerator. (thats where the air crosses over) unlessp u have an over and under freezer refrige set up in which case your little door is in the floor of the top compartment and the roof of the bottom one. good luck

GE TFX26KRDA WW 2001 side by side refrig/freezer w warm fridge

Cleaned the condenser coils which were dusty but not severely so. Checked the evaporator coils which were NOT iced. Reset the fridge to coldest setting and freezer to #5 (mid range of temperature) and waited a full 36 hours. Fridge temp is 40 F and freezer is about 0F. Not sure what is different except coldest setting on fridge. Warm weather is here but not warm enough to require AC. Temps in late afternoon in house about 77-80F. Any thoughts are appreciated because I suspect this problem is not completely resolved.

The freezer temperature is too high. is it controlled somehow? the fresh food compartment is a bit warm too - though the setting is on coldest.

I've made a mistake before with thinking that I was setting the adjustment correctly on a refrigerator before, sometimes those dials are hard to read if there is a graphic scale, or symbols etc. Instead of numbers with the highest number being the coldest setting. Anyway make sure the temp setting is set correctly, these are found in the refrigerator side.(yes even for the freezer, so it does'nt freeze up) I adjust mine all of the time, things only need to be so cold right.(helps my elect bill) Make sure those special compartments have clear air passages to them. best regards.

Freezer -5 Fridge 50

You have a defrost problem. Refrigerator gets cold via freezer. If blocked with frost, will restrict cold air into refrigerator.

Freezer compartment on refrigerator not cold enough

depending on the temp it could
if the ambient temp get below 32
you freezer wont come on and actually begin to get warm (insulation factor)
but the refer will seem cold because of the low ambiant temp is the temp inside
we go in the refer alot more than the freezer

Freezer compartment of refrigerator not freezing

First, I think it’s important to know that the Ref side has no cooling coils, it’s basically a box and the cold air in the freezer is blown over by a fan through a channel into the Ref side. This channel has a door which regulates how much cold air goes through. You probably have two control knobs in the Ref side, one controls the temp with numbers 1-9, 9 being the coldest. This temp control tells the compressor how long to run. The other control is for that little door and it may have letters A-E, E being the coldest. If you set it on E (coldest) then this will close that little door and keep most the cold air in the freezer.
So, how can the Ref side be cold and the freezer side not freezing?

1. Coolant leak. There is enough coolant to keep the Ref side cool but not enough to freeze on the freezer side.

2. Defrost system failure. The coils on the freezer side are clogged with ice and it's just a matter of time when the Ref side won't cool either. The back wall in the freezer will be covered with ice/frost
