Wireless keyboard and mouse not working after reastart

I have a new I-Concepts wireless keyboard and mouse and it wont work after computer restarts. I have put in new batteries twice in both keyboard and mouse. It works if I put it in a different usb port but I dont want to do that everytime i turn the computer back on. I tried to sync the mouse and keyboard with the usb reciever but still the same problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your suggestion. I tried it but it didn't work either. The sync button on the usb reciver seemed like it stuck some times so I took them back and purchased a different brand and the new set works fine. Thanks

Just a thought--try this. Go into the device manager and delete all the USB ports. Don't worry--they will be reinstalled on restart. Sounds like there is something having to do with them that is confusing the computer.
Just right-click on My Computer (or Computer in Win 7), choose properties and then click on device manager to get there.

Great! Sounds like a bad adapter. Good work.

I can't get my wireless keyboard to work even after trying everything can think go or told by Windows XP. Anything else i could try? Lee

Hi,

First try changing the batteries, reconnect the dongle or the connection device of your wireless keyboard and mouse, then restart your computer. If the step wont work reinstall the Bluetooth/Infrared software driver the wireless keyboard and mouse then restart the computer. If this fails still look under Ad/Remove programs if you have a Setpoint installed then remove it and restart computer, both or at least one of the devices should work. If one or both wont work then you need to contact the manufacturer and have the defective device/s be replaced. Just a heads up, they may ask you to reinstall your operating system / do a reformat of your computer so you need to back up your data ahead of time using a wired keyboard and mouse. Have a nice day ahead!

Wireless mouse does not work after changing batteries.it always has in the past The Dell computer and mouse is probably 8 years old but has always worked.

Try moving the mouse receivers usb plug in to another port. Unplug any new devices and restart computer. Then replug in any new usb devices.
If still not working.......
Look at Office Depot and other office stores for a replacement wireless mouse. I have seen them as low a $9.99 on up. You might even want to upgrade and get a wireless mouse and keyboard set.

Hello, i currently use a IBM desktop with IBM keyboard and mouse but i just bought a microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse which i just installed into my desktop using the installation CD. They are both...

Hi Tony,
It appears that you have an IBM desktop whose BIOS isn't capable of booting off of a USB keyboard and mouse device. Older computers used to require that a PS2 mouse and keyboard be attached before booting, to prevent you from booting a machine without any way of controlling it. You have 3 options:

1. leave the corded mouse and keyboard attached and never use them
2. update the BIOS for your desktop to the newest one in hopes that the updated BIOS will allow for USB mouse and keyboard operation
3. go to a computer store and get a PS2 to USB converter/adapter. They're small and relatively inexpensive. It plugs into the PS2 port, and makes your computer think that there's a PS2 device connected, when it's actually a USB device.
