I will help you to know what is Ping!!!!
Ping is a basic Internet program that allows a user to verify that a particular IP address exists and can accept requests.

Ping is used diagnostically to ensure that a host computer the user is trying to reach is actually operating. Ping works by sending an Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) Echo Request to a specified interface on the network and waiting for a reply. Ping can be used for troubleshooting to test connectivity and determine response time.

As a verb, ping means "to get the attention of" or "to check for the presence of" another party online. The computer acronym (for Packet Internet or Inter-Network Groper) was contrived
to match the submariners' term for the sound of a returned sonar pulse.

Tip: To find out the dot address (such as 205.245.172.72) for a given domain name, Windows users can go to their command prompt screen (start/run/cmd) and enter ping xxxxx.yyy (where xxxxx is the second-level domain name like "whatis" and yyy is the top-level domain name like "com").

You can check the ping test in http://pingtest.net/ also you can check that here www.whoisxy.com

Basic Internet connection Troubleshooting

Test if your actually connected to the internet.

This assumes web pages fail. if not pingtest.net is one of many great sites to test connection speed.

Select 'Start' button
Select 'Run'
Type 'cmd'
Select 'Ok'
This opens a command window. Black with white text.
Type "ping 4.2.2.2" without quotes.
If you see "reply from" then you are connected but you may need to test DNS resolution.

DNS test:

Same command window.
Type "ping pingtest.net" without quotes

If you get a 'reply from' then you can resolve DNS.

If any of these ping test fail start with resetting your connection, see ipconfig /renew and/or ipconfig /flushdns then reviewing your connections and possibly contact your ISP.

Doing a Repair on XP - Vista - Windows 7 does the same (but more) as ipconfig.

Online play is very choppy and I often get kicked off line.

Hello,
There are a number of things that can cause this, namely your internet speed.

Make sure you have high speed internet with at least 10mbps download and 1mbps upload for best results. Game play can also be affected by wireless. If you are connected to your router via wireless, try using a network cable instead. If your wireless signal quality varies a lot it can cause disruptions in your connection. If you have any P2P programs running such as emule, limewire, torrents, etc... Shut them down as they tend to sap your upload speed which in turn, affects your game. If your computer is not that fast and doesn't play the game without online mode very well, it could be worse online being you are now rendering more elements into the game. Lastly, EA Servers may be over loaded at peak hours which could also affect your game play.

Check your internet speed here http://www.speedtest.net and also your link quality here: http://www.pingtest.net

Make sure your ping is at least below 80ms and your link quality is A or C. Any less and you may have trouble playing some online games. And again, for the speed, it's good to have at least 10mbps download and 1mbps upload. My connection is 50mbps download and 3mbps upload with ping grade A and ping 3ms, so I have never had any problems myself with online games and real-time streaming J

Hope this helps!

Internet connot display web page all the time , and slow download speeds, modem adsl light coming on constantly.

Dealt with a lot of these. It is either :

1. Wrong password and ISP information - double check that everything your ISP has asked you to put in is correct

2. Bad phone connection - even if the ADSL light comes on (which means the router can see an ADSL connection from your phone provider) does not mean the line is clean. Pull out all the connections to your home phone, and just plug in the router to get it all up and running. Once happy reconnect one at a time all phones, digi boxes etc.

3. Adding to 2. - have you got a splitter? If so, change your splitter or reconnect, splitters can fail quite easily and get old fast - a bad splitter creates a lot of noise on the line, making the internet time out

It could be a router fault, they last about 4 years before they start doing silly things. But likely one of the above.

Try two sites once you are happy :

www.speedtest.net - to check your connection speed
www.pingtest.net - to check line quality

Keeps disconnecting from internet and I lose points every time. errorcode85020

Try unplugging your router and modem if you have one, then do a ping test on a computer by going to pingtest.net. I you have a low rating, call your ISP for help, as your line quality is bad and most likely causing the issue.

The internet runs slow and the monitor is not working right

First you need more information than that on the monitor i mean what is it doing or what is going on? to check your internet speed go to speedtest.net and go to pingtest.net and these will show your average connection and if you want faster then what you got now then get better internet. Monitor situation see if it is plugged in all the way and or drivers are in stalled and upto date nothing more i can say on that.
