How to take out the touchpad of Jenn-air JES9800AAS?

Some of the keys are not working and the display shows F1-7 code, and the most annoying thing is it beeps sometimes less sometimes more. The problem goes away sometimes if I turn off the braker overnight, but it comes back after a while (once after 4 months and once after 2 days). I tried to open up the keypad, but it looks it's integrated with the front panel, and I'm afraid to break the glass by force. Is there any way to open it.

SOURCE: Jenn Air Range SVD48600W (Circa 1998?)

ja_question.gif Why are the oven indicator lights flashing? Answer: When power is first supplied to the appliance, a flashing time will appear on the display.
If a flashing time appears at any other time, a power failure has occurred. Press Cancel, and reset the clock if needed.
When the oven is not in use, the display shows the time of day.
If the indicator lights keep flashing after you have tried to reset the controls, then you may need to contact service person.

This is from the Jenn-Air website.

SOURCE: Jenn-Air electric range

my jen-Air has a problem with it continuing to beep. Ive tried to get it to stop by pushing all the buttons. When I pust the off/cancel button it just keeps beeping. Tried the stop timer button and same thing. When I turn on either the bake or convection bake button it automatically just shuts off by itself. It is approx 10-13 years old. HELP, or please tell me to get a new one.

I have a Jenn-Air double oven drop-in prior to 1997 with a FO trouble light showing. What is the usual repair for the failure?

Hello,

The FO error codes means that a button on the touchpad has shorted out and teh touchpad needs to be replaced. In some cases you will get that error code because the ribbon cable on the touchpad hasa loose connection at the clock. check that the connection is tight.
The error code can be cleared by pushing the clear/off button,if it returns the touchpad will need to be replaced.

Jenn-air Model S176 shows a f1 fault.....will not stop BEEPing......oven and burners work

The F1 error code means that the computer thinks a button on the touchpad is stuck. Sometimes this can be resolved by making sure the touchpad connector fits tight into the control board. The F1 code can be cleared by pushing CANCEL/OFF. If it returns the touchpad needs to be replaced .

The Jenn-Air Gas Range Electronic touch control 800. The key pad does not work. You can not set the clock or work the oven. Help.

My Jenn Air has the same problem with the computer touchpad. The only temperature I can get to work is from the left hand column, 411 degrees. I don't want to waste another dime on this oven. I've read so many complaints from other owners. No more Jenn Air products for me.

The fan works until the oven starts heating up, oven is putting out a code F11

From the tech sheet:

Fault
Code Description Component to Troubleshoot/Replace

F1-1 Oven temperature above 650° F (343° C) in bake mode. Ohm sensor and harness (see "Oven Sensor" chart).
If OK, change control.

This may be due to your fan failing or a problem with the control board. We rebuild these controls at fixyourboard.com.

Two of the oven controls do on function on SVE47500W

We own a Jenn-Aire model W27400W oven. The display module has gradually gone dim over a period of several months prior to the end of the warranty, and the display is no longer visible. It is apparent that several Jenn-Aire oven models use the same display. Does Anyone else have the same problem, and If so, are they willing to join a class-action suit against Jenn-Aire with us?

Electronic touch pad problems

From what your telling me, you have tried all the numbers and only 1,4 and 7 beep when touched. Also, the timer display was set at 0:00 when you started. Also, you followed the manual's instructions first, and looked in the back of your manual in the trouble section, and found no answer.
Did you timer ever work? If not, you should be able to a free replacement of the control panel module from an authorized Jenn-Air repair company. It may be a good idea to contact Jenn-Air first.
The timer shows only hours and minutes when first started. For example 2:05 is two hours and five minutes. It goes into the seconds mode only during the last minute.

F1 shows on display and beeps constantly.

The F1 error code relates to a defective touch pad or clock (ERC). It seems that the reason for it in your case is some liquid entered the unit during its cleaning. Unplug the power cable and wait for few hours, In case it will not help, apart the ERC unit and and dry the touch pad and the clock. Good luck!

Touchpad woes

I had a tech come out and look at mine and he told me that the F1-8 means a faulty touchpad. He wanted nearly $600 to fix it. I had already taken mine apart and put it back together so I knew it wasn't a really tough fix. A little challenging but possible for anyone that is a handyman or woman. I found the touch pad online for $230 and just completed a successful installation in about 1 hour. Unfortunately, the repairman said that you have to purchase the entire front piece - the metal panel where the touchpad is imbedded. Once I removed the panel, I pulled the touchpad off and it had a price tage of $26 and a part number, so now i'm looking online to see if you can purchase just the touchpad. At any rate, even if the touchpad can be purchased separately, you still have to remove the front panel to install it so that you can plug the ribbon cable in.
