My E40 will not take a memory card greater than 512 MB which is unavailable
Can this be fixed with a download?
SOURCE: sd card can not be used
mostly due to continious insertion and removal of the sd card the card port in the camera gets damaged, and stops working. the camera needs repairs

I have used a 4GB card, but sometimes unable to read it direct from a card reader. This maybe my card reader limititions, but if i connected a USB cble to the camera, i could access pictures without a problem. Hope that helps.

Hi
the following memory types are supported byt your camera
SD (Secure Digital) Memory Card / MultiMediaCard (MMC) / Memory Stick / Memory Stick Pro
Do you have a card reader on your computer? We could format the card on the computer and then see if it works with the camera.
Can you tell me the size of the sdcard?
To format the card on your computer plug it into the reader, open my computer and find the card from there, ones you have found the right one from my computer right click and select format, Try formating the memory card to fat 12 or 16 and then when the format is complete insert it into your camera again.
(turn off the camera, insert the card, turn the camera on)
If the memory card still doesn't work plug it to the computer again and this time format it to fat32.
If this ia new sd card with alot of storage do you have a smaller card that already works on the camera?

because this particular model of the Z series does not have a mic. recording. kind of a waste but if you went to another model (I.E.. Z2) it does have the mic. to record. sorry but i went through the same issue myself. good luck
